Packed lunches from home in the USA will require a doctors note otherwise a child has to eat school food..........which is usually nasty fatty rubbish with nothing that actually revitalises anyone.
How do people feel about this?. It might just be one state but being forced to eat sht or having to have a medical reason to eat healthy food is one of the most backwards things I have ever heard.
I'm not American but this infuriates me and I feel sorry for parents who have been hit with this idiocy.
I can't believe that the most patriotic humans are also some of the most oppressed. Stockholm syndrome much?.

Also any food that I have bought that's imported from the USA has to have the ingredients labeled on a sticker.
A chocolate bar will read standard ingredients.
The sticker with the real ingredients placed on top will list all the genetically modified ingredients by law.
There must be people who aren't even aware as companies obviously don't have to list everything.
Its their right.......right?.
Reese's pieces are rammed with gm crap.

Reese's pieces are rammed with gm crap. Below is a link to the US code of federal regulations with regard to food labeling. Different countries have different requirements with regard to nomenclature, recommended serving sizes, standards of identity, etc, which is the reason for the sticker. The EU does have a standard for labeling of GMO components and does allow GMO ingredients, particularly glyphosate resistant crop varietals. Regarding Reese's pieces, the hydrogenated vegetable oil, corn syrup, likely the dextrose, soy lecithin and modified cornstarch are from GMO's. The vast majority of corn and soybeans are GMOs, so anything with ingredients derived from these plants will have GMO ingredients. Food companies are required by law to list all ingredients in any food product, although the US lacks a GMO labeling policy. I would argue that inadequate labeling is rather far down the list of problems with the food economy, although I do advocate for full and accurate labeling, including GMOs. Regarding the state of the EU food system, I applaud the tighter ingredient, GRAS and labeling standards, but it doesn't seem to have done much for the health of the continent. Europe has similar levels of obesity and associated co-morbidities as much of the rest of the developed world. Cheers, Aramis http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?tpl=/ecfrbrowse/Title21/21cfr101_main_02.tpl
Thank you.
The school lunch thing though. Is that a countrywide thing or a state thing?.
I don't think obesity can be sorted. Other than actual medical conditions, people choose to be a fat fk.
Much like anyone who states they are pretty dumb despite how easily available information is AND not having to search and read books which could take hours finding the right books.

Could you link me to where you read this? I've not heard anything about in the school system here where I live. But I will check into it.
It randomly popped up on wastebook and my gf told me. I'll have a look.

Dear Parents,
I have received word from Federal Programs Preschool pertaining to lunches from home. Parents are to be informed that students can only bring lunches from home if there is a medical condition requiring a specific diet, along with a physicians note to that regard.
I am sorry for any inconvenience. If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact Stephanie [redacted] the Health Coordinator for Federal Programs Preschool at [redacted].
Thanks,
Ms. [redacted]
Really???????????
As a family, we have made the decision to avoid a host of ingredients that are all found in abundance in school lunches. We donGÇÖt consume:
GMOs Pesticides Artificial colors and flavors Preservatives Hormone laden meat and dairy But this week at my daughterGÇÖs school, the offerings are:
Corn dog or chicken nuggets, tater tots Beef tostada boat or PB and J on white bread Pepperoni pizza or fish sticks with roll Pretzel sticks with cheese sauce or chicken teriyaki Cheeseburger or breaded chicken patty with seasoned fries There is not one thing on that list that falls into our normal diet. Add a side of rBGH-filled milk and a corn-syrup laden GÇ£fruit cupGÇ¥ and you have a complete nutritional disaster.
Why should the parents be required to bear the expense of a doctorGÇÖs visit to get the required note to be allowed to send healthful, homemade lunches for their children?
IGÇÖm glad you asked.
ItGÇÖs all about profit and control.

That's not everything either.
I feel so sorry for the parents who are forced to have their child eat sht, that is not on. I can't believe this and I don't think it will stand for long.
Forcing people to kill their kids off and ruin their chance at success.......wtf is this world coming to?.
The takeaway I order from is healthier than anything on that list as well!.
I am infuriated seriously, we are all human and this is horrible.
