Dust won't run on a PC, and Legion won't be released any time soon, if ever (just look at the fate of all other games/projects they've been working on since they launched EVE). If they break the trend and actually release Legion, my guess is it will run poorly on your, by then very outdated, build.
On Steam alone I have 60 games all playable I build a new machine I keep my Hard Drives ( data on them as well) I use the same case Antec Nine hundred 2 Ver 3 I use the same Ram Corsair 1600 8GB Use the same DVD drive idk its a cheap 52x dvdr drive (IBM i think) all 60 of those games run on this new PC
I just did a new build my total cost was $365 (I5 4670K and Z87 G45) thats less than a PS4 or Xbone
I'm mainly putting this here for the people who are saying a gaming PC is too expensive
EDIT those 60 are not counting the F2P games

If they break the trend and actually release Legion, my guess is it will run poorly on your, by then very outdated, build. To be honest, you can build a very solid PC right now for roughly $800 (using your current TV as a monitor if you're too cheap to actually buy another monitor). It will last you for the foreseeable future. Technology isn't getting that much better any time soon. We've already approached and hit that limit of expansion on the nano-scale level that the speeds aren't going to be "that" much faster 2, 4, 6, or 8 years from now (Moore's Law). Things are only going to get cheaper and cheaper because they aren't getting any smaller. Sure you can cram another two cores into a processor but it's not necessary to get anything more than a quad core right now and these are standard. So, $800 today, or $600 tomorrow (when Legion is ever released). It's still going to be an improvement at very low cost. (And for those that can't afford a computer at this price, you need to get a ******* job and stop crying about being poor you lazy fucks. Just because you can't afford one doesn't mean the world has to continue producing **** games on **** consoles. Adapt or die.)

Sure I could build a PC that will suffice, but it's not going to last very long and will need an upgrade within the year.
Edit: You also forgot a PSU. yea my fault
ive been running the same PSU for about 4 years now

Maken Tosch wrote:Marc Rime wrote:Enji Elric wrote:I'm mainly putting this here for the people who are saying a gaming PC is too expensive Fair enough ;). Can't really say I've seen anyone saying that though. Well, not anyone apart from the people who are trying to convince others that they should get a PC, that is. I have seen a few console folks saying that in my lifetime. At least in person. Although the principle reason they don't switch over is because consoles have standardized hardware while PCs don't. The downside of consoles is that you have to deal with some games that are exclusive to one specific console and not the other especially if you happen to like that game plus the issue of backwards compatibility. This forces you to invest more money than is necessary. On the PC, you don't have to worry about exclusivity between your PC and an Apple computer as almost every PC game company make the games work on both Windows (currently from as far back as XP to Windows 8) and several of Apple's OS versions all at once. But I won't lie. The lack of standardized hardware among PCs and even Macs makes it an issue for developers who have to account for the variations of the hardware between every user out there plus the various softwares that are running these computers. This brings about a situation in which one PC user is having the time of his life while another PC user is having trouble loading up his game while another user is experiencing frame rate issues.
PEBAC issues asside
I am kinda miffed that destiny isnt coming to pc but with PS being a pc architecture i wouldnt rule it completely out

Read the above post and stop assuming everyone who can't afford a PC is lazy you ignorant ****. You mad bro? Jobless bro? Get a life. i kinda get his point dude some people work 40 hours a week and still have only a little money to spare after their bills and if they have kids then its even harder. not talking about the people who try to act like they cannot get a job. if you don't have a job your not trying hard enough to find one or you live in a reaallly small community and are without the transportation to get to a community that has said job.

It's a reason why people play consoles because sometimes gaming on it is cheaper and you should either downgrade that processor to an AMD -FX and invest in a heftier graphics card or simply use the i5 solo as its internal on-die gpu is a bit beefier than a midline graphics card at times. An AMD build should be $350 w/out OS and an Intel build should be under $500 if your really making it a budget PC. didnt say anything about being budget and i dont use AMD CPUs i dont want to get into the debate of which is better you will not convince me that amd makes good CPUs however ATI (AMD) make good GPU I've been repairing computers for some time now and i have been seeing (for the last 4 years) Nvidia cards burn themselves right out even seen melted plastic (no overclocking applied)
I do use the Intel HD 4000 (built in graphics) on my laptop they play many console games well but my laptop was $760
the avergae spent on laptops is about $500 (average as in a lot of people buy a laptop for $350 some for $400 and some for $650)
