I asked that same exact question; CCP just said "we can't do what we wanted on the PS3" so DUST on the PS3 cannot last. Logibro's reply was:

I've been catching up on the Valkyrie keynote, and they had diverted Dust developers a year ago to work on the new space fighter project. *raised eyebrow Anyway, it got the green light and saw a big ramp up of production effort, resources diverted etc. Legion has been in development, with Dust 514 crossover, for quite some time now, and this green light question seems a bit theatrical.

If Legion should fail, dust will die entirely. Maybe they might try starting it up again in a few years, but otherwise, dust would be in the wind.
Also, people think dust isn't dead. You guys are cute. |

That's just making me more and more convinced that legion will very much likely get the green light.

This. There's no way CCP would ruin the community's faith in Dust, hype up a new game, release trailers for it advertising their trinity's New Eden integration, then suddenly decide "Yeah no it's not worth it, cut the wires."

My opinion and not fact is I believe the greenlight process at this point in time is involving logistics and planning
How much Budget?
How many people do you need?
When to Deliver?
What if I cannot give you that budget what then?
What features you want to launch with?
How much time or money will that cost you?
What features to cut if I want it out by this time?
Those sort of questions.... once again just my 2 cents on the subject.
If I am totally wrong and it does get red light then well pushing for market on dust 514 and maybe racial vehicles and redoing our tree again.

You can bet this whole grand experiment of side projects is headed for the sh*tcan. WoD, DUST, Incarna ambulation all failed and got dropped. CCP has proven their egos are bigger than their abilities. They should stop promoting this junk before they know whether they can deliver.
