You do whatever you do to make ISK and once you have enough ISK you go onto the market and pay for a plex. Once the plex is purchased you click it and select add game time. Making the 700M ISK is the problem. Prices are way up and they are expensive right now. I have been doing two accounts for a about 8 months now. You can, but an average player wont be able to do it anytime soon after signing in. An average player will have to pay and level up in the first months, up to the point where you can pull enough ISK to buy a PLEX in-game and apply it towards 1 month of subscription. A Plex is around, idk, 600-700 million ISK. I with 2 ships, being an average player without mega setups and just ratting, can pull around 100M per hour (2 accounts), ratting in null sec. I would say you would need at least, idk, 3-6 months to get to the point of being able to fly a good ship for ratting to the level where Plexing may be comfortable. Of course, theres ways to speed that up. Exploration pays very well, if i remember right some sites can pay like 600 million and up, but they are high level sites that need to be done with more than 1 ship, or have a good pilot and some higher risk for solo. And depending on competition, you may take time to find them, like hours. Theres other ISK faucets, like Incursion Sites (need to do them with a group of people, some travel risk involved) and Loyality Point grinding, which I am not familiar with. Other ways to get rich are industrial endeavors and market gaming, if you like more the play style of a businessman. I am pretty average and not that invested. Other people maybe can give better impressions. And yeah, deduce from the gains the ISK you will have to spend to play the game, like replacing ships, which might get steep if your alliance goes to war. Tl;Dr;: its possible, but may take some time.

If you choose to play then finding a corp like EVE Uni, Brave Newbies or Red vs Blue will make a big difference. EVE Uni will teach you everything you need to know, Brave is having some problems right now and Red vs Blue is for PVP. Good luck and don't forget to mail me if you choose to play. It is easy to get in a rut and it can be repetitive but there are lots of things to do and if you get bored doing one thing then it is fairly easy to go do something else to change up the pace. The whole purpose of Eve is to NOT be like the 'theme park' games where everything you do is pre-planned and you follow that course. Eve is a sandbox, make your own destiny!
