I have a feeling some are going to hate me for this suggestion, but I honestly think it would make legion better if it happens, especially since it's going to PC (for part of it at least).
I do not want to see Legion turn into another bunny-hopping instant strafing FPS on the PC, as I feel that it takes away immersion from the gameplay. Therefor, I'm proposing 2 mechanics.
A) A deceleration/acceleration effect whenever direction is switched on the keyboard. This is realistic with what happens when one is running full speed and decides to change direction. First they have to slow down to a stop and then switch direction while accelerating up to full speed again. So when someone presses one direction on the keyboard and then decides to switch directions suddenly, they can't strafe instantly and dodge bullets.
B) I would like to see a full jumping animation instead of someone suddenly popping into the air. Make it take a fraction of a second or something, but please don't let people suddenly pop into the air. This breaks immersion and is annoying when someone decides to play the game as if it were Quake 3 Arena.
This would force those with less armor/shields to find cover and use their head instead of making this a game of people jumping around firing everywhere. Other suggestions are welcome. Keep in mind that I've never actually used kb/m on Dust 514, so I'm not sure what they did to restrict it on the PS3, but what I'm suggesting is not a hefty restriction but rather something to keep the game interesting, in my opinion. |

Ayures II wrote:You're complaining about "realism." We're super-powered clones in rather heavy dropsuits. Any of the "unrealistic" things you're complaining about are easily explained by those two facts. Immersion restored.
No, you can't explain it no matter how much you want to. The laws of physics exist and can't be broken. Sorry.
Anyway, it's not just realism, it's an improvement to gameplay too to make the game more fun. |

1. You wouldn't be able to jump again. 2. You wouldn't be able to start sprinting if you weren't already sprinting when you jumped. 3. You wouldn't be able to change speed or direction nearly as quickly as usual. 4. Your accuracy would decrease substantially.
I don't think it would be enough, but at least it would be a start. Also jumping should absolutely destroy your accuracy while still in the air. Probably, but that would take away the fun of OHKing a guy with a shotgun in mid-air.
Shotguns don't really require perfect accuracy though. That's the beauty of the shotgun.
In all honesty, I think many of these are great suggestions. I think many of them have already been implemented, actually, in other FPSs already. |
