THAT OBVIOUSLY CHANGED - so I understand peoples confusion and sadness.
Why would going to the PS4 be any better than the PC? As a PS3 owner it would require you spending extra cash on a new computing device of some sort?
So really it just comes down to console people being console people. Happy to buy a PS4 but for what ever reason not happy to purchase a PC (or MAC if that is your thing).
That's FINE! I know some console people just want to chill, dont take games too seriously..blah blah many other reasons.. etc...
So I dont understand the moaning about Legion coming to PC. They never mentioned it going to the PS4 either.
Edit - Actually, I just read that post above me and I think I understand. People are just to ******* stupid these days.... they want their hand held.
"Horrible with public relations" and not caring about a segment of the playerbase they initially supported and are now dumping and that's where some of the moaning is. I have a gaming rig and I won't play EvE: Legion for these reasons:
- your console players are a different species of players than your pc players and console players tend to offer the more competition playing against in Dust
- it's not that it's on a PC that matters, it's how they handle a situation and what I can expect from them
- like the above point, if they couldn't get the console version working and polished, does starting from the drawing board make it a smart decision since most developers learn from their mistakes and not from a mistake atop a mistake on top of another
- it's not about content and items it's about updates, fixes and mechanics and they can't seem to deliver that even in Dust so what hopes do I have in Legion; did they have a magic wand to make this stuff work because there aren't many games they could reference for input only Dust and that's not really a great source of inspiration
- *IF* they transplant Dust to Legion then you somehow ignore how to contain a protostomping game that will, in turn limit new players staying with the game on top of the playerbase who will forever leave the game
- if you think about the above point of taking your playerbase, dividing it and then finding a way to limit its growth ensuring you won't recover your playerbase from one month ago for sometime, then I'm also worried about the "brains" running this operation now
For some players, like myself, it's not about console versus PC, players versus CCP or whatever. It's really a point of validation where if we're asked do we think CCP is hitting and making the right moves the answer is "no" and I'd even add that if you think that they have the whole WoD hanging over them and be more careful and strict about blundering in general then I was utterly surprised by how badly they handled Legion and that's where we now stand: can CCP handle this? If they can't even handle something as simple not pissing on a good portion of players on the console for the sake of having something shiny to show at fanfest then we have a really really big problem with CCP.
Gaming rig or console, your stuck with a development team out to try ideas on an uintested game and unwilling to see if they are even feasible in the first place because they are brimming with enough egotistic confidence that they always know better... |
