DUST Search - how many dust players will boycott legion?

A little history lesson. In short, Bungie was on top with Myth II on the PC. Myth III was expected to be even better. Halo was their next big thing. Bungie, along with Blizzard, was a big Mac supporter since they were doing PC games just as that was becoming a big deal and Microsoft and the PC clones hadn't taken off yet.

So, Halo was getting heavily promoted for the Mac and Myth III had a big player base. Then the bottom fell out. Bungie sold its soul to Microsoft for funding to do Halo. Microsoft wanted Halo to be their premier title on their new console, the Xbox.

PC/Mac development was dropped. Also, they dropped support and development for Myth II. Myth II was sold to Take Two Interactive which pretty much just hastily finished it off and through it out there with bugs galore. Also, the biggest thing about Myth was that you could mod it and create maps and upload and distribute them. Myth III was 3d based and so even that was gone.

Bungie is the reason why Blizzard and WoW became number one on the PC.

Let's just say that NO, I would not support or expect any guarantees for Bungie products long term.

They lost my support 14 years ago. Can you really trust Bungie? Sure, more than CCP. However, They do have red in their record.

Gamer boycotts generally do not work because there isn't a generic version. If I am angry at Pfizer, I buy generic Ibuprofen instead of Advil and I let the company know they will not get my business until I am placated in some fashion. Can't do that for games because so often there is no alternative for the same product. I could play Call of Duty instead of Battlefield for my fix on "modern military shooters" but there is not much comparison when it comes to something like Legion, EVE, or Valkyrie. "This is B.S! Anyone who thought it was going to stay on the PS3 for any extended period of time was a fool. I was pissed because I had no other choice with the way the info was presented to me. I still believe that the goal is to get this thing on the PS4 ultimately. From listening to various podcasts it seems that CCP didn't want to make the promise of PS4 because they aren't far enough along with Legion to even pitch the idea to Sony. Dust opened up a big market for CCP and it's led to many Eve subs. The same will be said for Valkerie. Legion may still never happen and devs have said they WANT progression from DUST to carryover but they cannot guarantee it will happen in any form at this point. I don't troll; I tell the truth. Nirwanda Vaughns 426th Infantry 628	Posted - 2014.05.09 16:46:00 - [46] - Quote its not so much boycotting Legion but more to do with no having a pc with specs to play it. i have considered building a pc for some time now as mine is probs 5-6yr old and while it will run things on medium specs like Skyrim, Grid 2 and EVE its mainly in the room to stream media to my ps3 and not much more. i think after being burnt by CCP in regards to DUST i'd have to see just what will transfer over and the performance or Legion to see wether i continue with this char or not. at the moment though after fanfest it feels like i've had a huge punch in the chest by CCP and its knocked all my love for the game completly out of me. its kinda like if i'd had a gf and bought her loads of gifts and then found out she'd been cheating on me with someone else hahaha Rolling with the punches
