DUST Search - how many dust players will boycott legion?

A little history lesson. In short, Bungie was on top with Myth II on the PC. Myth III was expected to be even better. Halo was their next big thing. Bungie, along with Blizzard, was a big Mac supporter since they were doing PC games just as that was becoming a big deal and Microsoft and the PC clones hadn't taken off yet.

So, Halo was getting heavily promoted for the Mac and Myth III had a big player base. Then the bottom fell out. Bungie sold its soul to Microsoft for funding to do Halo. Microsoft wanted Halo to be their premier title on their new console, the Xbox.

PC/Mac development was dropped. Also, they dropped support and development for Myth II. Myth II was sold to Take Two Interactive which pretty much just hastily finished it off and through it out there with bugs galore. Also, the biggest thing about Myth was that you could mod it and create maps and upload and distribute them. Myth III was 3d based and so even that was gone.

Bungie is the reason why Blizzard and WoW became number one on the PC.

Let's just say that NO, I would not support or expect any guarantees for Bungie products long term.

They lost my support 14 years ago. Can you really trust Bungie? Sure, more than CCP. However, They do have red in their record.

It gets too hot for games. I will eventually get a gaming computer but I'll tell you right now. I HATE FPS games. I really don't enjoy them. Dust is a very unique game in my mind. I will likely check it out eventually. If I don't get around to it because I end up playing a bunch of other stuff instead then so be it. But some of the coolest people I met aren't going to be able to play it on PC. I think it's fair to say that the player base will change drastically in a lot of ways. It's a different game. That being said. I much rather see a non-FPS version. Maybe something along the lines of StarCraft in that realm. Maybe then we'll get some fkn jets. PSN is "Ekopalm" I play D3, Child of Light, and solo games Also, Proto Trolling until I'm broke...

I'll be keeping track of what's happening in the game though, and I'll also be watching what happens between now and then, including what news we get regarding the state of the game and the future of DUST. If they neglect DUST as badly in the lead-up to Legion as they've suggested they might, I definitely won't be a paying customer in Legion. If they DON'T neglect it, I may end up becoming an EVE subscriber as well (I've been tempted for years, but never had the right combination of free time and disposable income).

You point is still valid. More than that though, it's always easier to like a game that doesn't exist yet. It's called projection, or fantasy. Take your pick.
