To me it sounds like this is the only reason you invested time into this game. Why? It was never promised to you upon downloading it.
So you're telling me that you never want to be that OP Combat Rifle using brick tanked Scout you loved so much anymore, just because they're not updating the game anymore?
You got what you wanted. You earned skill points and you invested them. In fact the game is still running and you can still use your character the way you always intended to.
WHY IS IT SUCH A BIG DEAL? Do you invest your time and money into things with unrealistic expectations often? Sure sounds like you all do.

1: True, but when was Dust ever a complete game? It's never been completed, and most online games still get some kind of DLC that adds things, where as Dust has had almost as much taken away as what has been added. The closest thing to a full rework was when uprising came out, and from there, almost every patch was an effort to balance the last one.
2: Brick tanked scout... Pass. If I want to play an assault, I'll play an assault, or a commando.
3: Originally, I just wanted a game I could play with my nephew, then I wanted to get more SP, then I actually wanted to see the game progress. I've gotten the first two, but one of the biggest desires isn't coming true.
4: CCP has left this game in a state far below what it could have been. To say it could never progress beyond what it has now is... Well, it's something that isn't looking at games like MAG, Battlefield, Killzone, Uncharted, and a lot of other games on the PS3 that not only have better graphics, but better gameplay, more players per battle (in the case of MAG) more game modes, the list goes on. This game could still be so much, none of which are unrealistic given a bit of effort. Heck, just adding a few new game modes, weapons and vehicles could add quite a bit to this game.
The big deal is that CCP said one thing and did another, though from what I've heard, this seems to be the way they operate, so meh. I'm still going to be playing Dust, but only because there isn't another FPS out there at the moment that I give a crap about. The game has gotten pretty stale, and knowing it's not likely to ever grow from here kinda leaves me feeling like there's no reason to play it anymore. Once again, I'm just waiting for something to replace it that's more fun and not completely broken.
And to be fair, I do enjoy Dust, I've never hated the game and likely never will, but I, like quite a few others, had hopes for this game to continue development and become a big thing, something that we could tell our friends about how awesome it was in a sincere manner. I tried to convince one friend to get a PS3 for this game, and now I'm extremely glad he never got around to it.
