As said after the Fanfest announcement, Legion has not yet been green lighted and may never happen. Therefore, essentially CCP killed DUST to make a PC port that may or may not actually ever make it to release.

Well, at the least with a PC, it has a LOT more uses than just gaming. Plus, you can play a much wider range of games on it. Basically, buying a good PC is pretty much never a bad investment if you actually have the money to do it.

Dont think legion will be successful at all on PC, it will have to compete with TitanFall, Planetside 2, and Call of duty advanced warfare. Probably he only people that may support legion is the eve players and sure you guys may keep legion active for a shot time but over time im sure its going to begin to fail

I also bought a PS3 just for Dust. It's the only thing I ever used the PS3 for aside from Netflix, but Netflix was better on the 360 anyway.

I did it because honestly after playing at a friends house (while it was in closed beta) I really liked the game. That and i ended up buying a used broken one for 20$ off ebay and fixed it for about 30$ and 2 hours of my time. Essentially i paid about 50$ to play dust which isnt bad considering the price a new game costs.
I still like the PS3 and it will probably come in handy for my minchkins room once they are old enough to have a tv in their room to watch stuff from netflix, hulu and blue rays. Of course thats making a lot of assumptions and is at least 5 years away. Who knows what will be out by then. I however am really good at making use of old equipment. The computer my mom uses is over 15 years old and still does everything she needs it to. Thanks to ubuntu that is it runs amazingly well even on very old hardware that was never great to begin with ( we are talking intel atom processor here i built the whole computer for 200$ and the hard drive had cost almost as much as the mb and cpu )
So i am sure even when i am done with the PS3 as a gaming console i will still find a use for this thing. Maybe i will end up having it hardware flashed to a older system so i can turn it into a linux file server there are a lot of things that can be done with a old ps3. |

This is something I will never understand. Where do people come up with these assumptions that make it seem as if Dust or Legion is trying to compete with another game? CCP never even said that they are competing against any game. Not in their hyped-up market and certainly not in the keynote presentations. Saying that Legion is competing again games like Titanfall or PS2 is like saying that Eve Online or Valkyrie are competing against Star Citizen. None of these games are competing against each other. There is no evidence that they are. Titanfall, PS2, CoD, and Star Citizen are entirely different from Eve Online, Valkyrie, Legion or Dust.
CCP is aiming for a single cross-game universe that will see persistence, player-run emergent gameplay and strong interaction between Eve, Valkyrie, and Legion. That said, that means that there is only ONE... I repeat, ONE set of games out there that might mean real competition between them and Eve/Valkyrie/Legion. And I bet it never crossed your mind when I point it out to you.

I got rid of cable because i use my PS3 to stream videos and play blu ray. My PC gathers dust until tax time. PC's are the past, not the future.
