Brainstorming on the most recent episode of Boots on the Ground and questioning of people at Fanfest, the Idea of a 'character merge' occurred.
CCP have stated that once ported to Legion, our DUST toons will have places in EVE Online, and EVE - Valkyrie. So the idea occurred to have an optional merge for those of us with accounts in those other games so we can pool all out progression into a single character.
For example:
Porting The Black Jackal to EVE: Legion. I could take my EVE Character (Hunter Blake) and merge his SP into The Black Jackal on a combined account.
So he would have his 'Legion' Progression, and added onto that would be his EVE Progression where he wouldn't have to start from scratch.
The Only thing that would change would be the client. I log in Using Legion, I access The Black Jackal as a Legion Character. I log in via EVE, The Black Jackal is an EVE Character. And added onto that, I could use The Black Jackal as a Valkyrie pilot as well.
Basically, I'd like the option to pool all my resources into a single entity on a shared account.
Once you go Black, you just never go back!

+1 I was thinking the same thing I don't like my EVE online character name any ways and would like to free it up for the next person.
I don't even know why I bother.

I actually really hope this stupid multiple games, one character thing never happens. It doesn't make any sense, even if you add the clone-type lore mentioned at Fanfest, for one character to take on all these different, and very separate lives. I really hope it was just one of the many empty Fanfest promises.

I don't understand why you'd want them all tied to one account for the same reason why alts are on different accounts. Then again it's kind of hard to drop OBs for myself if both games share the same system. I mean I wouldn't mind being able to access Tarn and Tallen from one place, but I've kinda gotten used to the idea they are different people. They're both dicks though.

The Idea is to have the option. Not a mandatory merge.
Those who want to retain different accounts can do so, but those who like to have a unified entity can do so.

Though I wonder how the SP would be handled since EVE is a subscription game so you only gain SP while you have game time while in Dust all SP is free SP...

It would be handled by the client. You log into EVE under account Alpha... the EVE subscription is what counts. Think of it as three different facets of the same entity. The client is what handles what SP is accrued. and each pool is separate. You're 'EVE-side' has EVE SP that is accrued over time like EVE handles it, only while you have an active subscription on the account. Your DUST SP is another separate entitiy, as stated, accruing Passive SP in the same manner, and whatever progression Valkyrie has would be separate also.
It's like having three separate entities of the same guy, collated under a unified account / entity.
Once you go Black, you just never go back!

One feature I really hope they put in legion is a character creator similar to eve. It could be just the face, but it would allow us to have suits with visors and a face to show in merc quarters.

Would be great! It would naturally become a part of it in this idea... since your DUST toon is also an EVE toon, and a Valkyrie toon.
Come to think of it, since they've said that the character's will be available across each game.. wouldn't that imply that something like the ability to have a 'face' will be involved somewhere?
I'm simply trying to have the option, especially for those that created EVE accounts due to DUST 514, to retain their DUST identities wholly and completely in the New Eden Universe.

Being tied into the same account, I would think would mean it were also tied into the self same subscription system, not a bad idea really. A better choice would be allowing one account to have a Valkyrie, Legion and Eve toon on it using the same creds to log in.
Perhaps this could be allowed by adding an additional 6 character slots, one client to load both Legion and Eve, considering the platform, and the ability to pay one sub for multiple games. The character slots don't even need to be game specific, they could be used for any of the games so players could move all their Legion toons to one account and the Eve toons all to another account or any combination of game toons, allowing for dual boxing with two accounts and still dropping OBs for yourself
Can we have an ETA on Legion please, don't want to buy a computer till I know what I need to run this

I'd pay somewhere around $50 to have my Dust and Eve character merged (I don't have a Valkerie character obviously).

Think about the possibilities, you could have SP accumulate that you could spend on any of the three games.
