Incarna was an EvE expansion released about 2 years ago now. When it was revealed they promised that EvE players would be able to walk around the Space Stations they stopped off in.
They would be able to socialise in pubs and clubs, push their wares in vibrant markets and AWOX to their hearts content in steam filled back alleys and 'private venues'.
Instead they were given the Captain's Quarters, which was the exact same as the merc quarters we are confined to, in addition upon its release CCP announced that the focus of EvE would be shifitng towards a free-to-play model with microtransactions. Kinda like how DUST is.
The EvE players were outraged, a riot was organised, in game. EvE pilots took their ships (expensive ones at that) to high security space, once their they opened fire upon a rather busy space station by the name of Jita. Of course since they were in high sec CONCORD intervened with Cruise Missiles, not that this stopped the pilots. Infact they 'rioted' for so long they actually eliminated the stations shields, (quite a feat considering jita is invincible).
CCP saw this and listened to EvE players and between the players and the devs shaped EvE into what it is today. Its a bastion of CCPs, community centric ethos that they enjoy mentioning at every opportunity and rightly so.
However EvE players have got nothing on those of the DUST playerbase. First of all the game was changing it's goals, not its platform. In addition the Jita Riots show the freedom a real MMO playerbase has, they held a riot for crying out loud. By comparison what can DUST do? The only in-game protest I can think of is a 'sit-in' across molden heath.
But considering that, that was done as a way of locking districts, its hardly riotous behaviour. Hence why so many people have just quit like myself or biomassed completely, we have no other way of expressing our dissatisfaction.
We aren't happy that they intend to move Legion to PC-only. Personally I think Legion looks Amazing, but I want to enjoy it on my platform, on the console I was told I would be able to. That's all.
Looks like its back to FPS Military Shooter 56

Correction, you could shoot at the statue all you wanted to and a conga line was formed orbiting it. Also, see my post above about money, time and support invested.
My apologies, I wasn't their, this was a relayed account I was told a while ago. But my point still stands about the DUST side of things, I mean unless you want to try a sit-in with DNS.
