Were you expecting to keep up income? Tell us that migration of characters and assets would have been a high priority. Explain how core concepts might change but you would map the changes to the best of your abilities and compensate us with virtual assets when things didn't map over.
The DUST keynote was a complete fiasco. Trying to dazzle us with a flashy demo while not talking about the current game? We're not stupid. You should have lead the presentation with a story of how the PS3 is holding us all back. Explain how limiting it is and how you have a solution. You still haven't even committed to Legion. Its still just a tech demo.
What angered me the most is seeing the poor quality level of Uprising 1.8 and realizing that we'd be suffering with the "B-team" for another two years as your best developers concentrated on Legion (which isn't even a sure thing). CCP Shanghai's inability to even delivery accurate patch notes has baffled me. A feel like an ass for telling someone how to do their job but I was so frustrated about weak patch notes I sent CCP Frame advice on how to get that data out of developers.
I've mentioned it in my tweets but I'll say it again here. DUST is dead to me. I'll return to try out Legion but the implementation of DUST has been handled so poorly and I'm just too tired of CCP presenting big ideas and failing to deliver them.
I recommend you look at how Star Citizen is handling things. They have two to three videos per week, a massive monthly update blog, a monthly magazine and full transparency of development. We're still at least a year out for the single player game and two for the MMO yet the players are well informed and flexible as the design evolves. Players can be happy even without a working product if they can see progress. CCP Shanghai doesn't need quite that level of communication but you can certainly take inspiration from it. Hiding from social media for the first months of your leadership? Yeah, that wasn't a good move.
Commit. Communicate. Be completely transparent.
If you do those three things I will be back for Legion.
