Ok, first off kudos to the people in this thread who are at least trying to maintain some sense of decency and rationality in the discussion despite being angry about it all.
The rest of you seriously need to stop and reevaluate yourselves before posting some of these messages. We all understand you're angry about this whole ordeal, but the way the majority of you are going about expressing yourselves with vulgarity, obscenities, insults, and just overall acting like a bunch of spoiled children is simply pathetic.
No one is going to take your message seriously when you come off like some child who's throwing a temper tantrum. So please, if you're going to try and give feedback, please don't make it seem like the DUST community is filled with a bunch of angry ranting teenagers.
That being said, thank you CCP Rouge for the clarifications. Many of us were not able to go to fanfest for the Q&A so any extra information you give us is highly appreciated. I am part of the small minority that is supporting what you're doing here. I will admit, the way you guys decided to handle it is questionable and people (mainly the console folk) are understandably angry about it. They view their characters as an investment they've made with both their time and money and now, to them, they believe that investment is simply going to vanish due to some inability to transfer over to playing on PC.
You've made it clear that our characters will persist which alone is enough reason for me to continue playing DUST. I highly appreciate that CCP is at least trying to make the right moves here. DUST was always a great vision that never really lived up to its potential and most rational people will agree that it's just not feasible to actualize that vision on the PS3, nor was it ever.
Now, the concerns about CCP pulling a "bait and switch" are highly valid for a lot of customers who aren't able to switch to PC and yet have devoted themselves to this game on the PS3. I believe this is something that should be addressed by you guys as well. Yes, you're a business and a business needs income to survive, but to suggest one thing and then pull the rug without notice is a bit sketchy.
As for Legion, I'm glad CCP had decided that the only way to move forward is to start anew. Sometimes the only way to deal with a bad dog is to just put her down. DUST sort of became this beast that didn't really seem to be going anywhere. The technical restrictions put a lot of stress on developers in trying to give us awe-inspiring content while remaining within limitations. The move to PC will definitely alleviate a lot of those concerns which I'm glad about. My biggest issue with DUST has always been the absolutely horrible performance it has on the PS3. The move to PC will finally answer that, which I'm glad.
My only question then is: what reason do we have to continue supporting DUST? It's clear with what you've given us that DUST has, like others have said, "one foot in the grave". Yes, you'll continue to "balance, tweak" but with no new promised content are we to just continue toiling in the same semi-broken game for the year or more it's going to take before we see Legion come to fruition?
We begged and CCP promised to give us something tangible this Fanfest, something that they're actually working on and we'd see results from. Project Legion is in "very early testing" and considered just a "prototype" and what not. These are not things that we as players see as something that will be tangible to us in the near future. The few of us that remained playing this game had hopes that CCP would use Fanfest as a way to revitalize our interest in DUST. Project Legion looks great, sure, and I'm anxious to see it released, but it serves nothing in terms of maintaining my desire to support your company in the coming months/year. And this is coming from someone who was excited about Project Legion.
DUST has become stale and boring, and to come out and promise me a new game that is still in "very early development" doesn't really give me a spark of hope for this game. Who's to say in the next year or however long it takes for Legion I won't just completely forget about DUST and move on to a new product. At that point, I'll already likely have vested interests in other products and may care very little for DUST. There's tons of new games coming out for PC that have been in development for a long time (e.g. Star Citizen) that are still in development and may very well surpass what you're going to be offering with Legion. All in all, you laid out a valid long-term plan but did absolutely nothing to address short-term concerns about the game we are currently playing.

Mordecai Sanguine wrote:It's not logic. PS4 is a PC architecture with a Sony Label on it That's it. So in fact you could devellop for both plateform.
It's simple, we are console player, your whole community IS a console community, we don't have Pc gamer. We want a console game, not a Pc game, it's simple it's easy.
You want it on PC : Well, NO WAY.
Start working on PS4 and NOT in PC that's pretty simple. Starting dev on the wrong plateform and it will be too late to change. PC is THE wrong plateform. You will be wrecked. You will lose all your base community, hacks will come, and you will NEVER come to the other PC shooters level.
We didn't serve as a beta tester for these 2 last year for others players. See you're wrong on many levels here. I myself am mainly a PC gamer. Many of us came here from EVE and have way more loyalties to the PC than consoles.
This is the kind of feedback that just isn't feedback at all. All you do is make empty threats about how they will fail.
DUST has what... 2k - 4k active players at any given time? You really think that's a lot? Sure, it's a community but it's by no means comparable to even some of the smallest FPS games on the PC. If it were me developing a game, I would gladly risk losing a few thousand players to gain the possibility of gaining tens of thousands of players. You know how I know? Let's look at statistics just on Steam. Steam (Valve) is just one distributor of games. There are a few others like Origin (EA) that offer FPS games as well as your standalone games...
CS:GO = ~145k currently playing TF2 = ~77k currently playing Garry's Mod = ~44k currently playing CS:Source = ~32k currently playing ARMA 3 = ~24k currently playing ... I'll skip a few until I get into DUST's currently playing range Planetside 2 = ~6.3k currently playing COD: MW2 = ~5.2k currently playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 = ~4.3k currently playing APB Reload = ~3.8k currently playing
As you can see, PC games harbor way more active FPS gamers than consoles. Even some obscure games I've never even heard of have more players. Hell, Battlefront 2 which was released in 2005 (almost a decade ago) has more active palyers than DUST has right now. FPS games were BORN on the PC. Your empty threats about how Legion will fail on the PC are just that, empty threats. Stop giving this type of feedback. No one takes this kind of crap seriously.

Mordecai Sanguine wrote:That's EXACTLY what i'm saying, Why PC players would play Legion while they already have that much Shooters and F2P shooters which are 10000x better than Legion will ever be ?
FPS and F2P are way too installed on PC, from what i've saw Legion have NOTHING for him. Graphics ? Nope agianst PC FPS. Gameplay ? Let me laugh. Teamplay ?
From what i see you're not showing "Potential Players" You're showing potential concurrence.
Are you serious? Are you some sort of prophet that already knows everything Legion will have to offer? Do you even understand how development of a game works? What they showed us is barely a few months of work. They still have a year if not more to even give us a prototype of the game they want to deliver. Then after that it'll only continue to grow in the same way EVE does. You have no idea what you're talking about.
Besides, do you seriously believe that PC gamers ever only play one game? "Oh, I play Counter-Strike and absolutely refuse to touch any other game!" You're ridiculous. I have at least 5 FPS games on my PC that I play pretty consistently depending on my mood. Legion would only add to that, and given my current interests in DUST I definitely foresee myself dedicating to it even more if it truly delivers on what its promising. Nothing is stopping someone who plays a multitude of other games from giving Legion a try
All you're trying to do is make empty threats that CCP will somehow fail because you're angry that they see the PS3 as a dead system, because that's what it is. The same goes for people claiming the game will have rampant hackers and what not. These are all just petty empty threats from people that are angry. Face it, consoles are just not the way to go with FPS games. Pretty soon Steam Box will be hitting the shelves and I wouldn't be surprised if consoles start dying out altogether, though that's only a pipe dream.

Piraten Hovnoret wrote:Bro they are abandoning the console players. Don't give me that ******* wall of text in a try to smooth things over. For me it's not about the money, trust me I have more than most. It's the ******* lies and al empty promises that what ppl are pissed about.
So in other words STFU Honestly at this point it doesn't even matter anymore. Abandoning the console players? After the display we've seen here, being in CCP's position, I would gladly rid myself of this horrid community too.
DUST will rid itself of barely a few thousand (incessant, whiny) console players and in return gain tens of thousands of PC players. Any rational person would agree it's a smart move. Cry about it all you want, it won't change anything.
