Hi Rouge,
firstly i wish you were on board with this game all those years ago when dust was just a short trailer at a fanfest, my mind exploded with ideas about what dust would become. it then was announced to be released on the PS3 and if I'm honest my heart sank a bit, but I went out and got myself a PS3 as I thought it was still going to be something special. The forums of eve players erupted with hate for ccp as they are now: 'my eve subscription money going towards a game on a console I don't even own', I heard those words all the way through dust's development. but I did not care as I shared ccp's vision of this game and was willing it to do well..
I loved dust, but saw it quickly become a lobby shooter and begin to alienate new players joining, this was not where we were first told it would go, and when planetary conquest came out and people had to set there watches to a poorly implemented feature I became a very casual player, but still loved to log in and play a few games of an fps game set within the eve universe...
the game was not working, it sank hard and with it my dreams of what i was wanting from a fps set in eve. I was saying to my friends how I would love it to released on pc, as I thought you could get the whole team involved in connecting it to eve and update and add features so much easier and not be limited to console which will eventually every now and again have to be upgraded to the latest gen.
I thought you would announce a PS4 release, (i thought this might happen at E3 along with the launch of the consoles tbh) I was shocked and excited once announced you were working on PC. I can completely understand everyone's rage and there reasons, but personally I can see through all that, as i did when it was announced to be on PS3. I know this wont make me popular with the vets that feel as if they lost everything, but I feel as though instead of dust514 dying on its arse and fading away like many other games I have played we are given a second chance.
I am a gamer, I don't define myself as a pc gamer, or a console gamer, I just like playing games... I really hope things settle down a little bit and we get to find out more about what the direction for this IP is going in both its forms. announcing it at fanfest was insensitive, but I guess there is no easy way to break something like this to a community. I am here to stay and I also look forward to legion..
these are difficult times, difficult times indeed Im just hoping a phoenix will rise from the ashes....
