Ban me till your blue in the face CCP - you took my money and data and gave it away without giving me a way to follow. How is that not THE MOST SCUM THING A GAMING COMPANY CAN DO??
Respond to me instead of banning me. You don't **** into a crowd and expect them to smile at you with good response. Answer me - I have been a loyal follower of dust for 2 ******* years and you're now pissing all over me AND I WANT TO KNOW WHY YOU ARE DOING THIS WITHOUT ANY COMPENSATION TO THOSE YOUR SCREWING.
I have over 50 PSN's and I will be god damn heard. |

ContraBanJoe wrote:Where is the apology about how this was "revealed"? You outraged your Dust514 audience both AT fanfest, and the thousands of mercenaries viewing it from home on the live feed. An apology is paramount to restarting constructive dialog in my opinion. Where's your apology for being a douche?
Pot calling the kettle black. You abused this system enough, let those who actually lose something here be out-raged. Not you attention seeking fruit-cakes. |

I believe that Legion will be using the Unreal Engine 4 (Where as DUST uses 3)
They also will both be interacting with EVE online and it's database, and it's market.
How much development with EVE could be done "in parallel"; meaning are there things with EVE (such as OBs of today) which could be added to DUST while developing Legion. For example, many such features seem to be more practical to introduced into DUST and Legion at the same time, such as the "progression" presentation, as well as the full market integration (Which should be largely EVE-side code?) Stop ******* asking about Legion....we are trying to preserve dust on the console. Oh, Dust will be preserved. As Legions down-syndrome cousin twice removed. |

DUST Fiend wrote:Since a transfer from DUST to Legion would inevitably involve a "respec" (all new skills, skill function, skill cost etc etc) what exactly makes Respecs in DUST a bad thing now? Can you please STFU about respecs? That's seriously on the lowest level of concern right now.
Who ******* cares if you can reset your character if CCP is going to just lie to you about what it can do. Get your priorities straight fool. |

Plenty of that stuff has been addressed in abundance by myself, and by others. I'm sorry for asking a question oh mighty random of the forums, thine wisdom showers down upon me like the grace of God himself OH HOW I HAVE BEEN HUMBLED BY YOUR GRACIOUS MAJESTY Lol

Funkmaster Whale wrote:Ok, first off kudos to the people in this thread who are at least trying to maintain some sense of decency and rationality in the discussion despite being angry about it all.
The rest of you seriously need to stop and reevaluate yourselves before posting some of these messages. We all understand you're angry about this whole ordeal, but the way the majority of you are going about expressing yourselves with vulgarity, obscenities, insults, and just overall acting like a bunch of spoiled children is simply pathetic.
No one is going to take your message seriously when you come off like some child who's throwing a temper tantrum. So please, if you're going to try and give feedback, please don't make it seem like the DUST community is filled with a bunch of angry ranting teenagers.
That being said, thank you CCP Rouge for the clarifications. Many of us were not able to go to fanfest for the Q&A so any extra information you give us is highly appreciated. I am part of the small minority that is supporting what you're doing here. I will admit, the way you guys decided to handle it is questionable and people (mainly the console folk) are understandably angry about it. They view their characters as an investment they've made with both their time and money and now, to them, they believe that investment is simply going to vanish due to some inability to transfer over to playing on PC.
You've made it clear that our characters will persist which alone is enough reason for me to continue playing DUST. I highly appreciate that CCP is at least trying to make the right moves here. DUST was always a great vision that never really lived up to its potential and most rational people will agree that it's just not feasible to actualize that vision on the PS3, nor was it ever.
Now, the concerns about CCP pulling a "bait and switch" are highly valid for a lot of customers who aren't able to switch to PC and yet have devoted themselves to this game on the PS3. I believe this is something that should be addressed by you guys as well. Yes, you're a business and a business needs income to survive, but to suggest one thing and then pull the rug without notice is a bit sketchy.
As for Legion, I'm glad CCP had decided that the only way to move forward is to start anew. Sometimes the only way to deal with a bad dog is to just put her down. DUST sort of became this beast that didn't really seem to be going anywhere. The technical restrictions put a lot of stress on developers in trying to give us awe-inspiring content while remaining within limitations. The move to PC will definitely alleviate a lot of those concerns which I'm glad about. My biggest issue with DUST has always been the absolutely horrible performance it has on the PS3. The move to PC will finally answer that, which I'm glad.
My only question then is: what reason do we have to continue supporting DUST? It's clear with what you've given us that DUST has, like others have said, "one foot in the grave". Yes, you'll continue to "balance, tweak" but with no new promised content are we to just continue toiling in the same semi-broken game for the year or more it's going to take before we see Legion come to fruition?
We begged and CCP promised to give us something tangible this Fanfest, something that they're actually working on and we'd see results from. Project Legion is in "very early testing" and considered just a "prototype" and what not. These are not things that we as players see as something that will be tangible to us in the near future. The few of us that remained playing this game had hopes that CCP would use Fanfest as a way to revitalize our interest in DUST. Project Legion looks great, sure, and I'm anxious to see it released, but it serves nothing in terms of maintaining my desire to support your company in the coming months/year. And this is coming from someone who was excited about Project Legion.
DUST has become stale and boring, and to come out and promise me a new game that is still in "very early development" doesn't really give me a spark of hope for this game. Who's to say in the next year or however long it takes for Legion I won't just completely forget about DUST and move on to a new product. At that point, I'll already likely have vested interests in other products and may care very little for DUST. There's tons of new games coming out for PC that have been in development for a long time (e.g. Star Citizen) that are still in development and may very well surpass what you're going to be offering with Legion. All in all, you laid out a valid long-term plan but did absolutely nothing to address short-term concerns about the game we are currently playing. Dear Funk - it must be nice having a PC and knowing you will be able to enjoy Legion.
For the rest of us poor peoples, we hate you.
