There is an article going around http://www.polygon.com/2014/5/3/5677566/Dust-514-project-legion-reaction talking about the player base ultimately deciding the viability of a game. I know Dust is being funded by Eve subscribers who the majority of PC fanboys won't pick up till it's on PC (although I sense the Dust servers abit more lively since the announcement of Project Legion :) ), but I and many others I love to hate, love it on PS3 too.
Can we just make the PC Legionaires a bunch of dirty Amarrians and allow PS3 Dusties to attack them and salvage items? I'm kidding, but this has already evolved into a nice little fanboy war. The community already at play :). I've tried to dissuade people from leaving Dust (but they aren't really) because I assume Project Legion will take years to develop, so there's plenty of good times ahead.
Just keep playing. Like the article says, a game only survives cos people play it. Try playing CoD Zombies from any of the earlier CoD games. There's nobody there. The free-to-pay-to-play mechanic is misleading in some games, but you are supporting Dust 1, whichever platform, the only one we want. If you can't afford to purchase stuff, just keep playing so payers, like me... When I can afford it, can come onto Live servers. Nothings worse than a dead server.
I would love to fight for stations one day, but if project Legion doesn't succeed (but it's a definite, Sean from the article helped make the greatest game ever, Battlefield 1942), please keep Dust on the PS3 till we bleed it dry. We're all having fun.
I know for Character Continuity though, that PC will be the safest, then you can port to other platforms. Nothing would be worse than moving to PS5 and having a 10 year Toon wiped 8|
Ps. How about ISK damage dealt contests when Legion first emerges. It'll be a great fanboy war :) |

Oh, CCP. Way to throw the old curve ball :) There are already a bunch of newcomers flocking to Dust to start training with all these cheap PS3's flying around. How could we doubt you? |

Now, Sony can't detect these. But they exist... And I think CCP have detected them. I honestly thought consoles were safe from hackers, but alas no. Will Legion be? Who knows, but I love when CCP slap a Banhammer on some people stealing from not only them, but you and me. I am not gonna give another cent because the rage I feel when playing these guys just isn't worth it. You know who they are. They play like crap yet somehow take ZERO damage, hiding under the 'proto' cover. Among some dubious other occurrences, always amongst the same people.
I warned them, but thanks for killing a great game. I now 'want' it to fail, just to know that your time was as worthless as mine. Scrap the whole shitepile and we'll call it a draw. I hope my money has helped developed Valkyrie and gone into some good fanfests :)
Farewell multiplayer... But I doubt it.
