I know that I've been one advocating for a move to PC for a while, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Given the most recent financial statement, I halfway expected a shutdown of Dust too, so who else saw it coming?

A move to PC is a good thing, but abandoning players as well as pulling the bait and switch with 'dust key notes information' and the currently running event are absolutely despicable. Bait and switch? How did you get baited and switched?
The is the best news to happen to Dust in a long time - years even. |

I knew they were bringing it to PC when the keynote started and he told anyone that saw something to STFU.. I was like "Dust on PC". But I had no idea they were going to just shitcan Dust 514 like that.
You drop the money losers. Anyone watching http://eve-offline.net/?server=dust for the last year could tell you that Dust was bringing in money anymore. |

"Make sure you tune into the keynotes for important information regarding dust 514's future *positive light*" - What we got "the year in retrospective, announcement of legion for PC and shiny new features" when someone asked whether these features were for legion, dust or both there was a simple 'nope, legion only gtfo'.
And this makes me happy. Dust has been dead. PC is where Dust should have been, and the only place where it can flourish. Legion, sounds to me, like what Dust was originally supposed to be, before the PS3 and the console crowd forced a lobby shooter.

Can you please tell me how you think dust will be better on the pc besides it having better mkb usage. More freedom in regards to updates (not having to be tied to sony QA), actual test servers, better potential for graphical improvements, not being tied to console hardware etc. There's lots more that I'm probably not even aware of. 1. They still go through their own QA and Sony has made their QA a lot more lenient then they used to be 2. Test servers are good I can admit that 3. Putting glitter on a piece of sh it doesn't make the piece of sh it any better (This is about the graphics) 4. Hardware? It just means that CCP will be even more lazy with optimizations then they were on consoles making the game inaccessible to people with lower quality pcs which cuts out a big part of the playerbase. This will also not fix the many many bugs that hurt this game a lot. Like Eve? |

You will be more disappointed than we are, if you truly believe that statement. First of all Dust514 wouldn't even exist if CCP didn't want to try & cash in on the console crowd. Secondly, I never realized that the console players were developing this game. I could have sworn it was CCP who developed this lobby shooter for consoles. The console itself, and the console crowd has most definitely limited this game. Also, CCP has already announced that Legion will be more open world, so I'm pretty sure the lobby shooter thing is done for the most part.
Lastly, yes they wanted to cash in on consoles when consoles were the fat-cash-cows, but they aren't so much anymore, so this all makes perfect sense to me.
