I'm sure they are lol. A lot of people on the Eve forums basically said dust was going to be a failure before it shipped , with this news about project legion being the game a lot of people here wanted and coming out on pc , yeah I definitely see why some are laughing. |

Keep developing for PS3 until it isn't feasible
Start transition to PS4
Cut off PS3 version after several years when the tech becomes too much for it

I am sad though, so many people who really did truly care about the game becoming great, that never abused anything. My corp mates are gagging for PC 2.0 and hopes of proper symbiotic integration, the reality is that thgry can now forget all that, real shame. M hoping they start saving for a PC.

Eve is a success because it taps that social network metric. How many people say "I play eve for the players". Eve is not a good game, its not actually fun, in the same way reading the Dungeons and Dragon manual isn't fun. Its a gateway to fun, but in and on itself its not fun.
Thats why they just killed Dust 514. They just crippled the social network. Some very popular and influencial players will leave, some powerful clans will leave for other games. Some people will follow them. As the population drops and good fights get harder more people will leave.
All that will be left will be the forum whores, the video bloggers and the hardcore fans.

I definitely do that, and done that. So I paid about half the amount I paid for Skyrim, and played about double the hours. So I really got my moneys worth out of Dust. No bad feelings on my side.

Like I have said before elsewhere... if they had just come out and said that Dust didn't do that well and because of that they were upgrading it to a new PC game or whatever they were doing then yea maybe this whole thing wouldn't have blown out the way it did. But they didn't... they completely screwed us over and we as a community regardless of what the majority of the Eve Fanbase says/thinks we have a right to be pissed! Yes.
In dust people seem to think that wanting to win ALOT is competitive when really they just tried too hard.
A truly competitive game would require everyone to be exactly the same in every way with the winner being better than everyone else. Not because of sp, fit imbalances and weapon balance. The game was never competitive but the corp battles were close. Unreal tournament was the best for truly competitive play, the PC version. The PlayStation 2 version was an abomination.
What we saw repeatedly is the complete opposite of competitive play, there's too much evasive bull sht in dust and granted, eve legion as well. The simple fact that you can strafe to abuse hit detection in dust alone is enough lol.

They'll get the same treatment as eve, a ban. CCP is very good at that but on the console they can't really do anything as they can't simply change things on a whim because of Sony, they won't simply allow them to add or remove things from their network.
Hackers can only get away with things on private servers or if a company has sht security. Temporary at best on dedicated servers.

I'd like to see there reaction if EvE keynote consisted of, we are re-imagining EvE as PS4/Xbox 1 project and are moving are devs over to this new project as oppossed to supporting our loyal EvE fanbase.

This isn't as much a problem with them pouring it to pc as it is with them erasing all our progress and characters to do it. It's like if a massive new Eve expansion was announced but in order to get it you had to create a brand new character and forego all the progress you had in the game.
It's a slap in the face to all dust players who were promised a persistent world and a ten year vision. I knew dust needed to be ported, it's just how they did it that sucks. |

Likewise players like myself have spent over-ú1000 on this game so that's a lot of eve time right?. Iv also started eve recently.
The bottom line is that dust is wasted on console and console players refer to shtty basic games like mag as if it was great, you just never knew any better. So naturally most of the 'decent ideas and feedback' is just basic trash that might have been good in 2003........ The hardware spec for consoles is always behind as well. Its a dk move but deal with it. Eve legions few months of development already looks better than dust in many ways.

Maybe a little lol, but Eve is aging. It does have a very dedicated player base, but other than Eve CCPs track record is pretty weak. If I was a capsuleer (I was for a few months till my pc died) i'd be pissed so much time and energy had been wasted on nothing. Given the way things have gone, if I were an Eve guy I would be worried that Eve was going to not move much farther than where it is at, as CCP squanders money on pipe dreams they don't have the ability to achieve. The PC is more powerful, sure, but balance is still something CCP doesn't know how to achieve.
