A truly competitive game would require everyone to be exactly the same in every way with the winner being better than everyone else. Not because of sp, fit imbalances and weapon balance. The game was never competitive but the corp battles were close. Unreal tournament was the best for truly competitive play, the PC version. The PlayStation 2 version was an abomination. What we saw repeatedly is the complete opposite of competitive play, there's too much evasive bull sht in dust and granted, eve legion as well. CCP is very good at that but on the console they can't really do anything as they can't simply change things on a whim because of Sony, they won't simply allow them to add or remove things from their network.
