#PCMasterRace You realize you're vulnerable to hackers now right? And?
The threat of hackers versus the sheer limitless potential that DUST on PC could offer. Yes, hackers are a problem in any online PC game, but there are plenty good enough solutions nowadays that exist to counter them. Most hackers in CS:GO and other similarly popular FPS game are usually banned quickly and efficiently.
Trust me, I play a LOT of PC shooters and I have hardly ever had issues with hackers in games where the Devs actually monitor and actively counter hacking. Hackers are the least of my worries.

The best a hack could offer would be aimbot. The in game Tacnet already functions like a wallhack so there'd be no point in that.
And when you're caught you are perma banned. Have fun hacking on a 500,000 SP toon.

Also consider the fact that what they revealed is very very early gameplay footage and it already looks 100x superior to what we have on the PS3.
To the rest of you complaining about the cost of a gaming PC: You can purchase or (preferrably) build yourself a solid gaming PC for cheaper than what a PS4 costs. You don't need a $2500 behemoth to run games. I built mine for $800 about 5 or 6 years ago choosing some of the best parts and it still runs every game I play on max completely smooth. Nowadays you can get even better hardware for even cheaper.
DUST on the PC means no more struggling with technical limitations on almost everything. We can finally have 64 v 64 with massive maps and not have lag. We can finally play Planetary Conquest with all the equipment spam you want and not have to suffer with lag. Even if you don't have a good PC, every PC game offers you the ability to turn down graphic settings and tweak files to allow a smoother game. There's just so much to offer with DUST being ported to PC.

Himiko Kuronaga wrote:And let's get something straight. There isn't a "threat" of hackers, there is a "guarantee" of hackers. Every other game you go into will have a hacker. It is, I assume, still a F2P game and they risk absolutely nothing by getting their accounts banned. Have you played Planetside 2 on PC?
That's free-to-play and doesn't have near the RPG elements DUST has with fitting requirements and skills and what not. I played that game for several months and not once felt I was ever cheated or hacked.
I'm totally fine with hackers creating new toons and trying to make do with their 500,000 SP toons every time they're banned. And like I said, the only hacks you'll have to worry about in a server-side game like this is aimbots. The TACNet combined with aim assist is hardly any different than what'd you'd see in a PC game with someone who's trying to stealth hack with aimbot. Anyone who's blatantly aimbotting will get banned quickly as there's already tons of anti-cheat systems that are offered that track aimbots and take care of them quickly.
I'm not worried about hackers. I'm more than excited about what else they'll be able to offer. Now DUST and EVE can finally coexist the way they were meant to.

But seriously OP, you're being a huge d1ck posting this, and apparently you're even proud of it? What a massive display of immaturity. CCP just gave the middle finger to the majority of the Dust community, and this is what you have to say... pretty pathetic. Yeah I am being quite a d-ck about this whole ordeal. The excitement of DUST finally making a right move combined with the flood of tears kinda made me go into a maniacal laughter.

And DUST is somehow relevant?
LOL. I think you're forgetting that both these things are video games. Everything is irrelevant if you think about it the way you do.
