How can this be called a thinking FPS????????

The a-holes that can't play with anything other than Proto gear. Now before the firing squad lines up. I have one proto skill and its in sniper rifle. No where does that make me a proto stomper. Its just one skill that is peeked, and I'm not even fully into the rest of the sniper skill set as Prof, and reload. The proto stompers in pub matches are just f-ing stupid. and half the reason why the NPE is horrid. Full proto gear(weapon, suit, equipment, and mods) should be limited to FW, or PC. only MLT and ADV in pubs. what I really would like to see, still outmatched by anyone with passive lvl 5 but the NPE would make that player seem less worthless. Now off from my rant. The community needs to come together and maturely discuss what would make this game into a real thinking man's FPS. I suggest POW's, but in turn I do see the down fall to that. Already another thread started about it. What else? In a game full of corperations, why isn't there more corperate espinoge(SP?) Capture a district from within instead of from the outside. Let's help CCP make a thinking man's shooter. No nerfs, or buffs. Add a new layer of game play to add depth to a shallow FPS that claims to be a thinking FPS.

Honestly, yes I had to rant about Proto's in pubs. But I'm serious, what would be a neat way to add to a mindless FPS, the game doesn't require thinking, just SP and a lot of time consumption. I'd like to see corperations falling apart because a mole had gotten embedded. I'd love to see POW's. Ransome of player to get their homie back from a rival. Things to add something more to a mindless FPS, of grind day in and out, just to become the guy you hated when you started.

First of all, Ishukone* Second, I have been sniping for almost a year, while shooting them takes some skill, they are USELESS to the team 90% of the time. The only good sniper is one that calls out everything, and by that I mean: Tank coming in on ground spawn, Sica, railgun Ground forces pushing in on 'A' Squad leader standing still in corner, watch for OBs ADS pilot, there are 4 forgers on that tower, don't go there till I've scared them off. Most games are mindless, very few people come to video games to think. If you want that, pick up a philosophy book or something, you're not going to get the kind of exercise you're looking towards for that particular muscle in an FPS. POW's, as stated before, wouldn't work, unless the pods were captured that held the capsuleer. There is in fact espionage in this game, though not quite what you're thinking of. Corporations have had their funds looted before, moles placed, and all that good stuff. I have no idea if anyone has ever been paid to sabotage a PC game though. If this game involves no thought, then a team of randoms should be able to easily beat a team of organized players. And finally, making insults towards the people you hope will read your post isn't the best way to start off, unless you're trying to troll. It just paints your entire argument, as well as yourself, in a negative light as the first response is to retaliate, rather than possibly agree that, yes, this game does still have a long way to go and it would be nice to see some more depth added in. I seriously need to stop posting at 4am... Nova Knives are OP! Nerf em before you lose all your proto suits!

An Actual FPS would have many features working that have always been broken in Dust. See the Myth of Sniper Head Glitch and the QQ Kittens lamenting the Sniper exploiting the Glitch when the reason is CCP/Shanghai cannot actually draw the assets of the game correctly, thus making many believe they have a shot when there never was a chance of getting a hit much less a kill. The MMO part? A joke. PC is a ISK generator for Large Corps. FW is an ISK sink so Mercs can burn down ISK so they don't have to buy AUR, instead they can use LP gear while losing more ISK than the LP parts cost. The RPG part? Clearly a lie. Although, to be honest, English is not the first language for CCP nor CCP/Shanghai so it might mean to them that RPG players in their countries expect to be Ganked, have their Skills modified (read Ganked) and not be allowed to try something else without wasting months of effort. Bitter? Yes, a bit. These Forums for a bug reporting solution? Not bad in Beta. We are a year past that and these forums are the worst part of interacting with CCP/Shanghai for getting any problem at all resolved. The bug reports are ignored mostly. Sometimes a few per week are mentioned in the inconsistently updated post for them. If a fix is done, it is never reported and might or might not make it into the patch/hot fix notes. Being out of Beta means ... well, they can and will ignore Beta testers. Sweet! For them. Welcome to Dust - such as it is. And so it goes.
