I have been looking at different corp profiles and been seeing the standard tax rate of 10% and wonder why do these corps have them if they do not PC?
There is really not a big reason to put ISK into a corp wallet unless you PC or you are in Duna corp.
Why do you pay tax?
For none PC corp i feel the highest acceptable tax rate should be 3-4% IMO

Why do you pay tax? Greed and stupidity.

I stay because I like my corp. We do try and PC from time to time but we're still trying to get a proper team together.
I pay the tax because the enjoyment I get out of playing with my corpmates far exceeds what it costs me in terms of ISK. I hover around 10M ISK, paying out 10% to my CEO each match isn't that big of a deal to me.

Yes. No.
Corps have tax for various reasons.
Corps like 'duna corp' and 'FACTION WARFARE ARMY' have tax so their CEOs can reap the benefits of new players who have no idea what is happening.
Some corps save up money from tax to eventually do PC when it 'fixes', or just hope corp battles come back.

Second reason, is it right to be taking ISK from members right now for something that might or might not happen in the future?

The corp I'm in has no tax because we do PC and we don't want to take money from the members after PCs.

Its called PC wont be like its is right now forever, so once its gets better corps can still afford clone packs and proto gear for PC while the ones you are talking about will have to start from scratch. Its called preparing for the future something that all corps that still want to do PC should keep in mind |

PCLAS has a tax, primarily to ensure that at times when our players are running low on ISK we always have to to keep them able to fight for the Empire!

But does it matter if they are using it? Having a pool of ISK corporate can draw from is never a bad idea.

5% tax rate but its for Eve and Dust.
I pay my mercs a paycheck each week of accumulated funds from taxes and Isk generation from our district. Averages around 3-5 million per merc right now.
CEO's should pay there mercs, no one works for free.....

Well, to be fair, with a tax rate of 5% a member is only losing about 10k a match, but for a corp with say 80 active members who play 12 games a day each, the members lose 120k a day, and the corp makes 9.6 mil a day. But of course this would only be for corps doing PC, or else, yes, it would just be taking ISK from your members.

If we could be payed out in LP that might mean something to us...... our corp only does FW as our primary Game Mode...... we don't make money.

Do we PC? Not at this time, working on building up our membership. Do we tax? Yes, 7%. We keep a small balance in the wallet for various reasons, the rest goes back to our members to help fund skillbooks, fittings, rewards and corp events such as WP challanges and meeting certain goals. The CEO and Directors are excluded from recieving money from the corp wallet.

Well we have a 15% tax some say this is outrageous but what they don't know is that my CEO says don't think that 15% isn't your ISK, you worked hard to put it in there so at anytime don't be scared to ask me for some. Its more for making sure you don't just spend it in one place as many do for proto gear and end up going broke in days. |
