In EVE, it makes sense to limit passive SP to one character per account, because you pay a monthly fee, although you can now pay an extra plex to have a second character get passive SP as well.
So why, when you can get a free email address, a free PSN account, and a free Dust account, is a FREE game limited to one character with passive SP out of three possible characters on a single account? Several of my friends have second characters on second free PSN accounts just to get the passive SP.
So C'mon CCP, just give us free passive SP on all 3 characters already! |

Having passive SP on all 3 characters would still let you use boosters to get more SP. |

Having passive on 3 characters takes away the required grind.

Passive SP is something around 22,000 SP a day, much less than the 200,000 ish SP you can get a week from active SP, so there is still a point to active grind. |

I agree, it seems silly at this point.
You can set up any number of free PSN accounts, and any number of Dust accounts. Each one will accrue Passive SP. With no additional hassle (other than checking each additional email address regularly.
Limiting each account to 1 passive SP earner won't change the ease with which multiple separate accounts can do the exact same thing (with no repercussions).

Plus, this seems like one of the relatively 'easy' things they could change in the game, its not like adding a new weapon map or dropsuit to the game, its just tweaking who can get passive sp. |

True, true, i would like to see CCP mess that one up... prob give 3x passive SP to them instead of 1x lol. That would be awesome

Actually, it's around the 24,680 to 28,8000 range, which equates to 172,760 - 201,600 per week. Every 3 to 3.5 seconds, you receive 1sp, which is reflected in the above numbers.
So you can make just as, or nearly as much per week as the 192,000 active sp cap passively. |

EDIT: I believe it is closer to 3 seconds than 3.5, and you can indeed make more than the cap, but only by a iittle.
Okay, but you can still earn Active SP ontop of the passive SP, so grinding SP isnt useless? |

It's 24000.
1000 per hour.
Time it for 60 seconds and do the math.

Ok, so that * 7 is 168000, just under the weekly active SP. Daily bonus should also count as something separate from passive SP. But either way, grinding for active SP is still good whether or not you can have 3 characters with passive. |

To Banjo, I was just elaborating on the actual amount of passive sp you can make per week passively, which is around 200,000sp. I've always capped within a few days. So don't really consider it a grind with the active cap.

Well thats fine, I just dont see there being any downside to allowing passive SP on 3 characters. |

It may be due to the fact that there are not too many skills to choose from, and could create issues with too many people having the ability to choose whatever they want, namely FOTM. If this is the case, then I'd rather have SP at a reduced rate of 1SP every 5 seconds for your secondary characters, which is 17,280 per day, and is 120,960 per week.
CCP might consider it in the future when the skill tree expands. How they do it is entirely up to them.

Yeah, I'd be fine with some kind of reduced SP rate if all characters got passive SP. |

I wouldn't. Just use an alternate PSN as another person suggested. You get the passive on all your alts that way without having to get CCP to make any changes.
