I'm not going to say that I back what DNS is is doing to PC, but honestly..it is a part of the game we play. Yes, their overwhelming control over the districts is bad for the game. Yes, it is locking out a large portion of the game that currently exists. Yes, some of their membership are trash talking jerks. However, can you judge every plyer involved with the aliance as such? No.
These same concepts exist in Eve null sec. If there was an alliance that could hold all of sovereign null I am sure it would be done. I said this a while back, all of the corps that were taking over PC were going to be surprised when eve players turn their eyes to Dust. The current state of PC is exactly what I was talking about.
The fact that DNS has held the amount of districts it has is purely due to the lack of interest in corporations willing to play the meta game and band together to start opposing them properly. Of course at this point DNS can just throw isk as the problem and burn out any competitors before they have any real chance at breaking the alliance.
Also, part of the main aspects to the current PC issue is that the majority of players in Dust are FPS players that jump corp whenever it is down. There is little loyalty to any specific corp. If the corporations in DNS started losing ground you would see an exodus of players move to what they would think the winning side is. This type of flip flopping would not happen in eve. The organizations would simply not allow it.
I congratulate DNS for accomplishing what they have. However, gathering every player that once fought against you is far from impressive. It is hard to tell if the organization of the alliance is put together by a few brilliant minds that exposed a weakness. Or, just a bunch of FPS players gathering to exploit a good thing while it lasts. Either way...they win...whoever is not them loses.
This is not poor game design or exploitation of faulty game mechanics. It is the nature of what New Eden is. If you really wanted to stop them then infiltrate their organization and bring it down from the inside. Gather like minded corps and build an alliance and hit DNS with strategy and tactics. In my eyes DNS currently are brute force, but what do I know. They can be taken down I assure you of that.
