Made a new build just to fool around with enhanced plates instead of complex of my proto heavy. Basically what it amounted to was losing only about 110 armor points, but gaining 12% speed. (Gallente) I doubt this will affect my play during serious games but I was wondering what other heavies experiences were taking enhanced over complex.

It doesn't really matter in a HMG fight. But if they have any other weapon, then speed does matter.

It really depends on the situation... Multiple fits, one with all cmplx plates, one with all ferroscale, one with all reactive, one with mix of cmplx plates and cmplx reps
But usually I just stick with the complex plates. I can fit them, why shouldnt I use them? 12% just isint worth the extra hp just to go a little faster

I have gK.0 Sentinels of all types. Complex Plated Enhanced Plated KinCat Tanked Rep Tanked And mixes of all the above.
I prefer the E-Plates, if Armor Tanking. That movement penalty with Complexes is a killer. My favorite right now is a C-KinCat with 3 E-Plates. Pretty much negates any loss of speed, but gives enough Armor and for a better price.
But, I'm still a budget-concious MLT spamming, KDR ruining, piece of **** 99% of the time. |

Not really, because I've never had any fitting troubles with a proto heavy and fitting constraints are my main concern when using them normally. That, and strafing, but on a heavy that's not really a problem.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Why use complex? Fitting costs are high in comparison to enhanced with little actually gained.
So you gain maybe 100 hp for an extra 8% loss of speed with increased fitting requirements.

Have a proto Gal sentinel, but I usually run a basic with complex plate and complex rep. Much more cheaper.

I just go tank or speed, never mix both. That difference on enhanced plates is far more useful on medium frames.
No.

Oh your right it's 8% not 12.

Already going as slow as a snail and that little extra speed ain't going to help me dodge any bullets; but that extra armor just might help me survive long enough to kill the guy(s) shooting at me.
