Serious question. For those who have 30+ million SP, how do you keep playing, what keeps you going?
I love this game, and I've gotten quite a bit of enjoyment out of it in the past 9 months or so, but at just over 26 million SP, I'm having a lot of trouble getting up the desire to log in anymore. I've still got a few things to acquire that I want, getting that proto SMG and such and getting the skills up on that, but other than that, there's... not really much. A few things I sort of want, but nothing major. Maybe it's just the fact that I came over to this from Battlefield and I can't get any enjoyment out of the vehicles. Seriously, ADS's are boring to fly, it's more enjoyable for me to gun or fly for gunners, and tanks... ugh... I used to enjoy tanks, now... not so much. Maybe it was just the fact that they were risky to use and there weren't many good tankers, but the tanks now are just really meh.
So, again, for those with relatively high levels of SP, what keeps you playing on the same maps against the same people over and over again? I'd like to find more ways to enjoy the game in between patches, but at the moment, I've got nothing.

You take a break for a few months and when you come back you see the game in a much different light.
I dunno, I enjoy just playing occasionally. I don't cap anymore though, I don't even bother. |

49.6 million SP vet here. I've taken to maxing out one specialization, playing it exclusively until I can consistently pull in at least a 3.0 KDR consistently while playing said role as it is generally intended. Assault, stealth and speed scout, point or 2 defense heavy, support commando...you get the idea. Then I move on to the next specialization.
Next up for me will be drop ships.

I really wonder what keeps guys that go 20-0 going. Hate and a desire for revenge keep me going, it is a challenge and there is stuff to buy and people to beat , easy games make me want to quit, yet I see these players and they seem to be trying to avoid each other rather than hunting each other.
Because, that's why.

I have 46 mill sp, I am finally getting tired of capping and I have a lot of everything I need an I as well could care less about vehicles. I have friends here and not much time to socialize outside of home due to work and kids so dusts provides my nighttime laughs with friends I've had for over a yr now.
But sometimes the game itself isn't fun anymore, so now I do things that are fun that take me away from caring about my score and make me good at odd gameplay, like spending a week killing people with stupid things like plasma cannons or burst scp or melee mods, and actually getting good at it in the process.
Find something fun and unorthodox forget about kdr and winning and you ll have fun again.

2. Friendly Competition : Kills/kdr/wp/win loss ratio

Next up for me will be drop ships. That's the smart way to go. I specialized in just about all non vehicle roles back in the beginning of Uprising, getting real tired of this game and even long breaks don't really help out in the long run.

I'm only at 25 mil. Long breaks are your friend. I would probably have over 30 mil by now, but if it wasn't for frequent long breaks I don't think I would still be here. I played for about a week of 1.7 and peaced out until 1.8. New roles and weapons keep the game fresh as well. Loving my Minmandbro.

42 million here.
I just try out new things every week. First thing I always do when I get on is change up some of my fittings to try a new strategy, or go through and delete old ones that I don't use anymore.
The feeling of "I wonder what I can do with my sp this week" is what keeps me going. That, and I have a lot of people who think I'm awesome.

I think your missing a huge aspect of the game, getting stuff is nice but playing in a squad is much more fun and entertaining. I log in to have a good time with my mates. If I got really bored I would go fight some FAC war and meet some new people who also share my love of the state. |

Nobody with over 30 mil SP got there by exclusively playing Dust. We only played when we wanted to, instead of letting it become a chore. Take a break. Make sure you're having fun before you deploy, or just turn it off. Remember: it is just a game.
Most of all, make friends. I play because I like my online friends more than anything. I spend more time joking in the war barge than in game.

not a high sp vet so I still have stuff to unlock and try out.
been playing from june 2012 so been around since the old skirmish 1.0 and before.
for me I just goof off for the most part, I do almost everything in the game from scout to sentinel. toss in vehicles which I am now just getting into and investing SP. and for me I am waiting.. waiting for the game to evolve into something like in the videos, and being part of that is interesting to experience.

JK, JK. I just think Dust is a great game--I play it way more than I play EVE, Minecraft, or all my other indies, so it is definitely the most fun game I play, hands down. I'm only @ 22M SP and have been playing for about a year. New skills and things to do are awesome, but mostly, I just think it's actually a well designed, great playing game.
