Very true. I don't generally spend the whole match repping, it's more a situational thing for me. But when I do, what keeps me from switching to my weapon more often is the damn wheel. R2 never seems reliable enough either. Drives me crazy.

You need a team to use the equipment, but they don't have to be successful.
Had a round where my team got cloned by 50.
But not before I made 4.2k WP off of all the spawns, reps and revives.

Nah, I like supporting my team, not just myself. My gun game is getting better but I still have some learning. I already brick tank my logi anyways to keep my health up while I hop around keeping my big teddy bear alive.
Seymor Krelborn wrote: i agree the min logi is awesome, I disagree its a poor solo suit...
I guess I just see logis in general being a better support medium than any other option out there to solo. If I wanted to solo better, I just run my scout with a CR, remotes and some other tool that fits my fancy at the moment. I'm not saying you can't be successful, just that it wouldn't be my recommended path to go solo in. However, that's the absolutely beauty of this game. Diversity is king!

I've always done AR on my logi and recently went to CR since I'm also speced into the min commando for AV and AoD. Up until two days ago the Mass Driver was the only weapon the Combat Engineer. With nearly perfect fitting skills it still doesn't work on the 'Sever' Logi frame so I finally caved and trained SMG. However an Assault Mass Driver is on all the Advanced M/1-Series. If you can roll with a tight squad/team it is a fun weapon. Solo play is pretty reckless or an adventure if you want to put a positive spin on it. Going Combat Rifle was smart. Especially if you are serious about clearing an area before needling someone. There is an A.R.C Thread all Commandos should check out.
Yeah, it seems like the perfect weapon to go a fully support roll. AoD, kill in cover (your team puts them there, you make sure they don't come out again), render clones unrevivable, wipe out equipment in positions, soften enemies: all support functions when running with a squad. The only problem is that it can be useless when attacking a raised position.
I don't find it a good weapon to run solo unless I am doing hit and run AoD or as a complement to a CR on my min commando fit. I also have to get better at aiming. I have only used it significantly over the commando event, so my aim is still not that good.

thanks for posting this.
Regarding this: "This is your call, make it fast. If the area is free of reds go for it. If the area is still hot you may have some killing to do. Rezzing under fire is a rookie mistake that most players will get really annoyed by. A special case here would be if you have a proto needle and are rezzing a heavy. Getting the fat man back on his feet at 80% armor can be a real **** you to the bad guys."
When a good portion of my team is engaging from cover (jumping from one or both sides of cover to take shots, until eHP is low and then jumping back in cover), if the situation fits, I just sit behind cover and rep. I only jump out to take shots when there is a lull in the repping. I also frequently revive during the fight in this situation because I can usually get them back into cover before they take too much damage.

I'm sad to say I used to find them far more useful; however the logi role has devolved into either spam equipment everywhere before switching to a slayer fit or attach yourself to a heavy and hold onto the leash for dear life.
I'm an Assaul player, GalAss to be exact, and I'm at the bottom of the list of priorities when it comes to supporting. I have to build my suits to be self sufficient, High amoro repair rate, carry my own nanohives, put on a dampener or scanner when needed, etc. the only time a logi notices me is when the heavy is dead or we don't have one, scouts don't need ammo, and they dont have acces to a supply depo. They go "Oh you have armor! Stand infront of me and soak up bullets while I rep you."
Remember Assault players Logis, we need support too. :(

Here's a question for everyone: whether to shield AND armor tank your min logi. The shield tank to me is very obvious, but I personally still tank my armor a bit. On an adv suit, I run one enhanced plate, one basic plate, and 1 complex armor rep. (Once I get some of my equipment up to level 5, I might drop the enhanced plate to a second basic to give me more PG). I find my speed suffers a bit, but I can still run faster than most of the medium and heavy suits because lots of people use plates. I find the extra eHP and having two types of tanking to counter weapons designed for taking down shields or armor (MD, LR, SCR, etc) is useful since I frequently become the target when I am repping a heavy. |

Maybe if they actually repped me rather than leaving me with half health after reviving me I would respect them more.

I try to rep everyone, even gal scouts. I am more likely to rep an amar heavy first, but hey, they probably have way more armor than you do and can soak damage if we get ambushed while I am repping other people.

Yeah, that's bad form. Admittedly, there are times where I revive and don't rep right away. One is when there are 2-3 dead clones in close proximity to each other and I think it is safe to revive them all. I then get to repping afterwards. That lets everyone's shields come back sooner and avoids someones clone perma-dying before I get to reviving them. Sometimes people run way while they wait so i can't rep them. |

I'm fine with that; my problem is the Logis who sit there with their rep tool on a heavy despite the fact that they aren't even in combat, all the while I have a clip and a half of ammo left with a fourth my full armor.

You'll not see that with me around. I have this OCD thing with health bars. I'm always chasing you jokers around, like "hey dumbass your health bar is only 94%! Come back here!"

Be'e Po wrote:Short version: do people like having them and are they helpful?
So i've been playing for about 2 months, loving Dust. I've branched into Minmatar commando because it suits me well and I have been loving the Mass Driver/Combat Rifle combo. During the accelerated SP week, i branched out and tried Logi for the first time. I have the Templar Logi BPO, so had a 2/2/2 suit to play with, sporting militia injector and repair.
I had a blast. Heck, i had one match where I had 27k SP earned because of a really tough, long corridor fight. I had some 7k Hp repaired.
Still, we'be all bewn rezzed by that guy only to be shot before we even stand. Hell, I'm made that logi mistake too.
So is it worth it to skill into logi? Do people like having logi in the squad or is it a pain? Is minmatar logi a good choice? yes because there so rare few logis always score the most war points and to carry equipment effeciantly |
