I've probably found a great compatibility for a Minmatar Shotgun, if you've played Red Faction Guerrilla there's a shotgun created by Marauders. They're a group of scavenging tribes that have similarities to what the Minmatar are going though lore wise, but anyway here's the shotgun -

Although obviously CCP can't copy it because of Copyright, but they could make it similar but with a different model...
In-Game it's an Pump-Action Shotgun that packs allot of damage, i can remember using this gun on Hard Difficulty killing Elite EDF within 3 - 4 Shots & Online killing players within 2 - 3.
But in Dust translation that would differ, i'll say give it the Gallente Shotgun Stats, but increase damage slightly, slightly lower range (or keep it same), increase reloads speeds slightly, reduce RoF & Give it 8 Mag Size with total ammo capacity of 72.
& that's it, what do you think?

If the minmatar were to do a Shogun, they might as well lock an load it with pellets, nails or shells & pump they foes full of lead. Minmatar got loads of explosives but not enough projectile weapons, unless i miscounted? |

Given the Minmatar's affinity for speed I always imagined they'd use an auto-shotgun. Moderate damage, slightly more range than Gallente shotgun. Run into the fray, unload into whatever is in your sights, run away to reload.
Although the amount of QQ the shotgun causes right now, probably not a good idea. |

For me I wanted a Minmatar Shotgun for AWHILE, it should have (IMO):
1.) Less damage (Proto Medium takes 3-4 shots instead it would be 4-5, for heavies instead of 3-4 it would be 5-6) 2.) 5-6 shells in barrel (7 maxed possibly) and less Ammo. (like 20-22 for basic and 25-27 max skills) 3.) Shoot incredibly fast 4.) Reload fast-er 5.) Be more primarily CPU based |

We most kindly wnont be seeing racial shotguns. Why? Because each race has their specialty weapon
-Gallente= shotgun -Caldari= Sniper Rifle -Amarr= Laser Rifle (and please dont say that the Laser Rifle is the Amarr sniper rifle. As even CCP stayed it that it is not) -Minmatar= Mass Drivers

Id like to have a double barrel Minmitar shotgun. Allow it to fire 2 rounds simultaneously, but give it a longer reload time and animation, where you have to load each shell. That would just be awesome and totally brutal. Would fit the Minmitar ethos of hit and run, shock and awe, guerilla warfare ethos. |

An AA-12 type shottie would fit into Dust's Minmatar combat philosophy very easily, and add a some more variety to CQC action. It should probably have a decreased optimal range, but a longer max range, so it can still hit people at a distance of 10m for, say, 50-60% damage.

CCP also said that there would be racial variants of all the weapons. The AR had placeholders for the other racial ARs. The shotgun has your standard, breach and specialist (but isn't the last just reduced fitting?). Running by that, there would only be a Gallente/Caldari shotgun, and also on that topic: there's an assault and breach Mass Driver. That means there will be a Caldari missile weapon (light) and a Gallente plasma 'splosive weapon (light). Or at least that's what it seems would be. otherwise, why are there "breach" and "assault" variants of other weapons when they aren't even in the same category. Class, sure, but not category.
Since there is supposed to be a variant for each of the races in ARs for the others, that means that there will be the following:
Assault Rifle Breach Assault Rifle Tactical Assault Rifle Burst Assault Rifle
This translates to:
Rail Rifle Assault Rail Rifle Tactical Rail Rifle Burst Rail Rifle

I am not too sure about the Laser Rifle since a Burst Laser Rifle would in effect be more of a Burst Scrambler Rifle, but with a longer range and less damage since "damage build up" resets when the trigger is let up or the weapon overheats. The same goes for an "Assault Laser Rifle" and a "Breach Laser Rifle". I think for something like the LR a "Breach variant would be closer range, higher damage output (as per the norm) and increased heat build up.
Now, in terms of shotguns, I am pretty sure there will be racial variants for all the weapons, just in a more "unique" way. For instance, in terms of light AV, we have the Caldari's missile Swarm Launcher and the Gallente's Plasma Cannon. Both of them suck, but both are light AV and of a unique variety. There will likely be a Minmatar light AV weapon (explosive-based) and an Amarr light AV (shield based), but of which are unbeknownst to us all, but I digress.
Wen it comes to shotguns there will most likely be a racial variant for them as well. The Gallente shotgun fires super-heated plasma in multiple "pellets" made to raep shields. The Minmatar Shotgun would be more of an actual lead-based or explosive based weapon, blasting the hell out of armor. My bet would be explosive because in a more realistic approach Minmatar bullet weapons wouldn't punch through shite, but that's besides the point.
The Amarr shotgun would be a longer ranged, charge up shotgun. It can be fired in rapid succession akin to the ScR and overheats as well, doing less damage, but on a charge shot and at its optimal range, would annihilate almost anything because of the pre-heated laser. It would also be a precision shotgun similar to the Caldari's. The Caldari shotgun would also be a charge-shotgun, except railgun based and with a longer range. This shotgun would be more akin to firing slugs, except high velocity (10G?) rounds at a slow/moderate interval.
Aside from those, the Minmatar's Mass Driver would likely stay as a unique AI weapon as I do not have any idea what the other racial variants of that would be, aside from the Caldari variant which would be similar to a Forgegun. Pinpoint and large blast radius.
Dropships need a buff. This way they can stop derping everywhere . ;_;

Don't feel each race should necessarily have their own variant of each weapon type, though if Min were going to have a shotgun, a burst version would be amusing. I'd much rather see each race get more unique and "specialty" weapons or the ability to modify existing stuff first. Caldari and shotgun doesn't really go together, for instance. If they were to bring back dumbfire swarms, however... |

We shouldn't expect any more weapons except a Heavy Plasma weapon and a Heavy Laser.
with that the infantry lineup will be complete and CCP can work on Vehicles, or making more content for the MMO side, or give us more game modes, or fixing PCGǪ.

I want a caldari shotgun. pump action(I mean a heavy pump here, like the one from CoD 3, with the trench gun BAM! Ka-CHUNCK), high accuracy, high range(for a shotgun), and lower damage in exchange for all that(probably achieved with lower pellet count per shot.)
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.
