Tanks have a profile off 200 but that don't do no good if u can only see them form 10-15 meters away the passive scan should work like the gun after the basic 10-15 meter they stil go out getting weaker the father out it going upward to 50/75 meter so that way tanks can't just sneak up on you. Vehicles should be seen from a disant on your scan they have the speed and power advantage anyway but all so there basic scan should go out 30-40 meters |

Range of detection should just be proportionate to profile.
That would be awesome, however horrendously complicated and would require an entire rework of the passive scanning system.
Until such a time that a full rework could be done on ewar, a simple fix would be best - make all vehicles always visible on the radar/minimap (but not necessarily the HUD).

Indeed. It doesn't make sense for vehicles to be able to sneak up on people. This is more of a Feature Request than a Bug though, belongs in the other board.
I'd like to be your CPM1 candidate

I don't know, seems kind of buggy to me that something so large and loud as an HAV can be within my scan radius and not show up.
Looking for the scout hangout?

Would it be that complicated? Surely a fall off range system similar to that of weapons would be...I don't want to say easy, but they're familiar with it. Time consuming sure.
Edit: Not a developer of any kind, feel free to prove me wrong.
I am part shovel, part man, full scout, and a little bit special.

I'm with you. Hearing a HAV rumble around and not being able to see it visually or on scans is bush league, however that feeds the sense of hopelessness that pervades New Eden. |

Now the TacNet is actually gone. Instead we have scanners that nobody uses. I have only seen them in one match out of twenty since 1.8. Well, a week after 1.8. The amount of time necessary for everyone to log in and discover they aren't worth an equipment slot.
However @Django Quick, if they implement your idea maybe they will give us AV tracks on the mini-map that was talked about months ago. Swarms still arrive half the time with no tracking whatsoever. Just explosions and the occasionally correct hit detector.
And so it goes.
