I wanted to test the effectiveness of my GalScout's scans, so I equipped 4 Complex Range Amplifiers, 2 Complex Precision Enhancers, and a Cloak Field to stay hidden.
Although weak and lacking stealth, the fit had a constant scan of 100m+ in all directions. For once, my passives could easily pick up tanks. Moreover, aside from GalScouts and other profile dampened Scouts, it was seldom that a red dot got under my radar.
I played 5 Domination matches with this fit without dying once. This got me thinking of how viable the fit could be in squad play. If I was to do nothing but run around and attempt to avoid all enemies, could my squad benefit without me having to do a single thing?
I know it's not a very competitive fit, but it does seem like it could work in pub matches. What do you think? |

Only Active Scanners should pass intel to squadmates. If Passive scans are shared then it's a bug, and I hope CCP fixes it. And yes it is a bug. boo... run some damps Dozers, I think I briefly was in a squad with you about half an hour ago in a Dom match on that pipeline map. Did you notice if my passives were shared with you?
If you're not the person, ehh.. Lol? |

Go with my fit: GÖª 2 Cx Precision enhancers GÖª 2 Cx Range amplifiers GÖª 1 Complex Reactive plate GÖª 1 Cx Profile dampener.
87 shields 220 armor (More than enough HP)
You are welcome.(in the case there are enemy Cal scouts, go ahead and change one range amplifier for another dampener, still gives you 50+mts scan range.)
AND BS. ITs is very competitive, (and most importantly a scouts true purpose) you just dont know what you can do with R/E when you know every enemy position. With a Good ACR or SMG you can wreck everything.
SMG/ACR for Med Frames and Scouts R/E and Grenades for Heavies I believe you're right regarding the Tac net. However, being able to see red chevrons 100m out is still very useful.
To test this, I stood 100m on the opposite side of the objective of the pipeline map (domination) and was able to see LAVs and enemy reds a little past that distance.
Anyway, I'm surprised that many believe the suit is viable. I'll agree that the fourth range amplifier is a bit unneeded, so I'll most likely slap a Complex Profile Dampener on. There is also enough CPU/PG left over for me to equip a scanner, so I'll be messing around with my Core Focused and Quantum to see which produces the best results.
The Core Focused could help with seeing less dampened Scouts, but the Quantum seems appealling for keeping reds highlighted even longer. |
