Building a GOOD reputation (as opposed to the reputation you have for being thomas mak) is a good start.
Play the game, work with players who aren't squadded up, see how they perform and how well you work together, then message anyone you think you can work with effectively. Check their Corp and make sure it's not one of the more prominent player Corps, and if it looks promising, send a message. Invite them to join, mention that you fought alongside them and thought you worked well together.
If you have a mic, turn it on, and use team chat to say "hi". Wait a while and see if anyone else picks up - many players don't turn their mics on until they hear someone else talking. Once you get talking to someone, ask their character name, find them, work with them. As before, message them after and invite them to the Corp.
Post #2 has the dishonourable options, but this is how you go about it if you want to make friends while expanding your Corp.
Post #3 also brings up a good point with local chat - that's a great place to meet and recruit people. |

thomas mak wrote:But I am linker, logi, and hive spammer, I fight but my KD is 1.35 now Then you're going to be seen as a mediocre player if you're in a squad and they aren't seeing the benefits of your Logi-ing. Are you repairing and reviving teammates well (by "well" I mean consistently focusing your Repair Tool on the guys backing out of fire, and NOT reviving teammates only to see them shot down instantly)? Are you placing hives in positions where your teammates are seeing benefits from them? Are your Uplinks being used regularly?
If you're near the top of the WP leaderboard with 1.35-ish K/D, you'll probably be ok if you're working with people who understand the game. |

thomas mak wrote:ppl never complain about me logi-ing, my hive give me 500-1000WP per game, my link never be distroyed and bring me 500-100WP per game Assuming that was 500 - 1000 and not 100, that means you should be hitting around 2000-isn on your logi work alone. If you're doing that AND getting a positive K/D with it (1.0 or better) then you're probably in a good position. Work with people, watch how they play (seeing the way someone fights is MUCH more valuable than their stats - trust me on this). Send messages after a good game, complimenting the people you want to join you, and advising them that you're recruiting. If you've been providing good support for the team, they'll often remember your name for something you did, particularly if the message goes out right after the match. At worst, you annoy someone who doesn't want to join a team. More likely though, you'll find a new friend who will be willing to work with you in future, and in time you might get a new teammate out of it.
If you're putting up less than 3000 WP running as a Logi though, you're probably only a mediocre player and could use some work (or more teamwork). Saying your Uplinks are never destroyed means you're never putting them in the risky places which can turn the tide of a battle. A good player will rarely, if ever, lose one, but a GREAT player will lose a couple in most battles, but each time it will be valuable.
Another point I forgot to address is to BE PATIENT. Two days is NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. You haven't had ANY time to build up reputation, make friends, start recruitment... you basically haven't had time to DO ANYTHING yet.
Orin the Freak wrote:hate to say it, but being a logi is no excuse for a low KDR. I am a logi, have been since Uprising (launch). but all through the beta I was more or less an assault/run and gunner.
Protip: Only go repper logi if you have a good (and I mean GOOD) heavy to follow around. Otherwise it's a waste of your time, and KDR. You can - if you're good at it - provide good use as a repper Logi (or a repper Scout) by moving from one hot zone to another and staying behind friendly lines patching up the people who fall back to heal. You'll be picking up Triage points, and occasional Guardian points from kills, and you don't need to get lots of kills or assists to be useful like that. You SHOULD be getting very few deaths doing this, because you'll be staying out of the line of fire for the most part, but people WILL remember and recognise you as "that guy who patched me up" and if you message them, they'll probably think kindly of you even if your final stats weren't the best.
Quote:Still valid though. I guess what I'm trying to say is, KDR is what people look at for face value on how good someone is. Not even necessarily overall KDR, but game to game. If you go 30-4 in a match without orbitals, I dare say you're probably going to make some friends. that or at least get people looking. if you do well like that in several matches, expect to get noticed. SOME people look at your K/D as a measure of skill. Many of the smarter ones ignore that in favour of watching your performance in-game, and seeing where you placed on the scoreboard and with how many points. A good Logi running AS a Logi shouldn't be CARING about their K/D, and a smart recruiter will look for the numbers that make a REAL difference.
Quote:It's not fair, really it isn't. but a solid player can pull at least a 2.0 KDR, regardless of class/gear. I've been running mostly sub-10k suits, and since 1.8, my KDR has been taking a dive. almost down to 2.0 now. that said, I honestly don't really care about my KDR anymore. Not when you get one shotted by RE's, Tanks, Shotguns, Thales, and road-kills. There's no reason to care about KDR anymore. There are so many cheap ways to die that it actually has cheapened the game. This is why I feel we need ISK efficiency to start taking the place of KDR. We've needed ISK efficiency measurement for a LONG time now, and we need more people to pay more attention to those other stats - revives, healing given, etc. |

Medical Crash wrote:Vague terminology, what you are referring to is good social skills, and most important of all, "frame control". If a person does not have a strong "frame", then people will not respect you, nor care what you have to say. Not something you can really fake either. So what you're telling us is that thomas mak can't fake being not thomas mak?
Well, that might be a problem then... |
