I do it all the time at CRUs with my HMG. I don't intend to camp it, I'm just defending myself from being attacked by spawners when I hack. Me fatty, no hacky. If I'm in a Scout though, I will make the hack even though camping is just as easy with a Shotgun/SMG and the spawn SFX.

Sucks to be spawn camped but you have options...

Yep the spawn system is about the worst I have ever encountered. It seems to go out of its way to either spawn you out in the open on a sniper or tank map or in front of the enemy and especially their tanks.
Every so often it will spawn you about as far away as possible from everything but making sure that their is an enemy tank patrolling the space between you and the battle.
Create a grid system and allow players to spawn into zones that are either contested, empty or controlled by your team. |

Its the new players to the game that are getting wrecked by this which will ultimately make CCP lose money. The Elite corporations that have the funding and skill points for proto gear every spawn may keep this game from ever getting a bigger fan base. Gotta have a balance so new players have a chance to get better and want to keep playing. Hopefully the spawn issue will get fixed next update. |

I'm in nyain san, I've gone 3 games IN A ROW where we went 50 to 0 because the idiots kept doing it. Ccps spawn system is garbage because enemies have to be within 10 feet or so of the spawn for it to change, meaning you actually have to stop spawning in if its getting camped.
Oh aren't you special. 3 in a row. Must have been fun. You'r a bunch of **** suckers. Y'all sprint from spawn point to spawn point to show these pub match scrubs how so badass you are. Your corps is full of protro wearing pussies. The entire community should leave any match you're in so you can have one big pro q synced circle jerk. I'm sure while you're drinking sugar water and eating doritos in your moms basement while mopping up 50-0 vindicates your miserable life somehow.
Just my opinion, though. Have a great day.
P.s. And yes, I suck. But I'm man enough to suck like a man and not camp crus or spawn pads. How bout y'all find a new game where there arent so many idiots spawning into your awesomeness. |

And yes, I've just been spawn camped by 3 x Madrugers.
Rage over.
Don't hate the player. Hate the game.
Works here.
If you think anyone of the players who is spawn camping hasn't been spawn camped themselfs? EVERYONE who has played DUST long enough to give any feedback to CCP has asked them to fix their spawn mechanics...
Instead we nerf and buff **** for a solid year... and barely add the stuff they said they where gonna add a year prior.

There isn't but there is a ground base in your redline that the enemy cannot get to. .
wrong. in many maps, enemy can spawn camp you there just as easily.
This is broken.

If you have issues with it, try setting an uplink in a safe position (always).
Back in closed beta it was worst.

Cee Zet wrote:As an Drop-up logi, i can tell you, that it is very difficult to lay uplinks in the "right" position. You have to lay them on to fronts, maybe three. Two as backup, two in a front position, and two on the flank of them, so that they can secure them. I also watch my spawm points the hole time, from point of view with an LR and ScR.
Spawm camping is possible, and makes the game more taktical, cause you have to change the way you attack/defend. And aslong as there are uplinks, spawn camping is allowed. If you talk to your team mates, they will tell you, how much people are on the actuell best uplink. Use the one behind, wich maybe takes longer spawntime, but its maybe safe. Eh. I always put a fast one for the point, one that has more spawns available in a secret or hard to get place, and the normal uplink at a flanking position (if I die I spawn in with my scout suit there).

Tip: If you know that an uplink that you dropped is being spawn farmed. Go drop an uplink elsewhere immediately in order to destroy the other one you dropped. If you're using an R-9, immediately drop 2 elsewhere, etc. This will prevent your team from losing clones to farming.
I noticed the enemy spawn camping a drop uplink that I had set near the frontline of battle the other day and immediately committed suicide and summarily dropped my uplinks upon animation. The self sacrifice probably saved at least 5-10 clones getting farmed.

I think spawn camping is a legitimate tactic, uplinks give you a tactical advantage and give your opponent the advantage when camped. I'm an uplink guy, if there is one role in the game I can say I do it is this, and I hate my links being camped, but it is fair to do it.
What I would like is cloaked uplinks though, so I can place them and some proto squad running non - stop vehicle scans and driving around at 100 mph, don't find them as soon as I drop them. TThere are few things as frustrating and annoying as getting spawn camped, but if it is happening in a match it is just a symptom of bad matchmaking. You don't get continually spawn camped in an even match. It's the sniffles, it might be what bothers you but it your allergies that are the problem.
Because, that's why.
