Have you ever crouched and aimed an HMG while strong-pointing a corner? It's sick.

Ever tried to hit something with your sniper rifle uncrouched? it's pretty hard even with Sniper Operation at Lvl 5
It also helps with the HMG....sometimes....when I want to hit things at range....and my AScP is out of ammo

As a Cal heavy I don't find myself doing that as much, however before the racial heavy variants I used to do it all the time. It was incredibly effective

The most hardcore snipers do this from 300+ meters. I remember I did snipe a scout in CQC before

I use it when I hide behind cover when I have taken a lot of damage, Or when I'm cloaked staying perfectly still.
Other than that, Dust mechanics make it useless for offensive uses.
You crouch in other games to reduce spread, increase accuracy, decrase kick, etc.
In Dust all you have to do is press L1, and let go of R1 for a split second when you want to reset your aim/kick/dispersion.

I crouch every time I hack something.
I crouch when I snipe.
I crouch when repping myself with a nanohive if I am in a safe place.
I crouch behind cover after getting shot.
I crouch when aiming my ScPs at a stationary target.
I repeatedly crouch over the faces of dead mercs who have pissed me off in battle. |

It does nothing of the sort, and has been tested extensively.
However it's common sense that moving makes you easier to detect, while staying in one place can conceal your position better.

Crouching as a heavy for better range and accuracy is really effective, and for snipers to reduce aim sway. But more importantly... *drum roll* to get rid of sprinting glitch! |

So that is how you get rid of the sprinting glitch, well I know my scouting alt will be happy to know this. He uses mostly E-War mods, needs his speed

Don't need to, everything is magically teleported outside of my body and is sold off as ammo. Your merc could be using some of my quality ammo...

Or 'squatting' up 'n down on an enemy tank when you can jump on it. Lovely to see a tanker try to swat you with the tank 'turret'. I still remember the time a clanmate jumped off a building with a forge gun, and actually landed on an enemy tank O.o... What really made a lot of us laugh was that he destroyed the tank with his forge gun, and the tanker wouldn't get out LMFAO! |
