I have no problem with snipers. Unless they're redline snipers. Then they should go biomass.

Kinda hard to justify when a sniper has little if any effect on the outcome.

This right here is the ONLY reason why I hate snipers. With the redline situation right now most snipers are just cowards thinking they're good. Although I do love hunting snipers with my laser and watching them squirm thinking it's someone right behind them when I'm really 70+ meters away lol.

red line sniping is one of the ways to snipe, it's almost the only way left to snipe in this game.

ground sniping is almost a waste of time, since it takes multiple shots( 2-3 for scout, 3-5 for medium- 3-5 for heavy, 5-8 for gal heavy ), all this does is give away your position and get you killed, back in the day if you ground sniped you would drop most targets in 1-2 shots and anyone you didn't you could finish off with your side arm, made for a great way to play.

ground sniping let you move with your squad, it let you be stealthy and operate from within the confines of the whole map rather then a few select spots in the red line, was a much better way to snipe.

the changes since uprising successfully killed this form of sniping, red line sniping hasn't changed much, I mean it's far less effective, but the people who red line snipe aren't sniping for wins they are sniping for isk usually, it's usually pretty easy to make isk while red line sniping, either that or they are just bored of fighting the same way every day non stop.

Its time to face the sad truth that in this game snipers have zero, read it again I said zero, impact on the success of a team. In fact I would say that snipers have more of a negative impact on their own team than they do on that of the enemy. I have played with many of the best snipers in the game (among which Guardian does not number) and even they will admit that in the game's current state they are not benefiting their team mates in a way that substantially contributes to the team's success. The more snipers there are on the field right now, the fewer people there are actually attacking and defending points.

Get off the towers, and out hills. Drop your long rifles. Your team needs you, to do something usefull.

Only problem I have with snipers is the one who sit 200-300 meters into the redline and contribute 10 or less kills.

If you're putting up 30 kills or keeping overwatch on you squadmates then cool, but if your not doing those then you're just wasting a spot on the team and padding your KDR.

You're getting a lot of hate for sticking up for snipers - and I have to admit I've got no love for your kind. But it feels a bit unfair - I would say there has to be a useful place for good snipers. I take many of the points from your OP and I'm sure Sniper allies have helped me out on my good runs.

I tried sniping when I first started the game but it felt like I was missing out on the fun and abandoned it pretty quickly. Full marks to you for standing by your playstyle.

Well, I'd say that it's worst in this game. The average intelligence/maturity of the community redefines "low". This is almost a scientific intrigue.
