In a way I'm kind of glad that CCP is narrowing it's focus on developing New Eden, and given what we heard at last year's fanfest I'm not too surprised. Strategically it's clearly the right thing to do. The goings on of New Eden is what gets CCP press, and the more deep / rich that world gets the more impact it can have.
All the same, it's kind of sad to see WoD die on the vine like this. Maybe they'll get a chance to do it further down the road when the New Eden collection of games is more well established and the company has grown some more. If anyone could do that MMO right, I think it would be CCP. |

I would imagine, it's been under development for a very long time. All the time spent on it is now worth nothing. |

Remember that CCP bought White Wolf entirely. We will never get new material for the P&P and another game is only possible if CCP gives up the license.
I don't think this is actually true. Last I read White Wolf still operates as its own company, they just report to CCP every so often with CCP taking a portion of the profits. I would expect P&P material to keep coming. As far as a video game based on White Wolf IP, that depends if CCP wants to sell the rights to that or sit on it until they've developed the broader New Eden experience and grown their company more. They could even simply get another dev shop to build such a game in exchange for a portion of the profits, while retaining ownership of the IP.
White Wolf isn't dead yet. |

Lots of things will be shown around the games in the EVE Universe come Fanfest. Not even two months ago, CCP was fully committed to World of Darkness. Is CCP functionally incapable of speaking to the community without suffocating on their own double-speak?
Welcome, you must be new to Earth. You'll find that all corporations are 100% committed to all of their projects right up until the moment they are completed or cancelled. A whiff of uncertainty can cause a project that could potentially fail to actually fail due to employees jumping ship prematurely. In terms of their internal management a corporation owes you no information unless you're a shareholder, and even then your access to information may be limited. |
