I think 5 may be a troll..
I have mine around 55 and 58 but I take the time to lower it if and only if I will be running a specific fit for a long time. For example. If my crew is feeling like just having a good time I may run my lazer rifle the whole time, to help with aiming I will lower it to 45 40. But for the most part I like it in the 50s range for hipfire. Scout shotgunning may prove easier with lower numbers as well.

That changes from person to person.
As a scout I have my X/Y set to 100 and ADS X/Y set to 65. |

Lol
Like I said, changes from person to person.
My advice is keep changing it by 5 or 10 until you find the best settings for both options. |

100 in both settings. I once saw a video about a guy playing Modern Warfare 2 and made the argument that a higher sensitivity gives a faster reaction and in time you can control your aim. I follow this logic with every game including non-FPS and I haver never regretted it. |

I have mine fairly high, because I knife and need to turn faster.
I also have my aim down sites set to 0, because I used to snipe, and it helps with the longer engagements.
It often comes down to play style and skill, so it may be a trial and error thing.

40/40 non-ADS, 20/20 ADS. I used to be a 100/100 type of player, but I find I can track much better with lower sensitivity against an enemy with good strafing skills. High sensitivity causes overshooting, which in a tracking shooter is the difference between life and death. It's fine in COD when you just need to land the first 3 shots, but in Dust you may need most or all of a clip to land with perfect accuracy. While lower sensitivity slows down the speed at which you can react to threats from behind, I find it makes me think about my positioning more- just don't let them get behind you unexpectedly, and low sensitivity will reward you with great accuracy.
You should take the range that you usually operate in into account. My sensitivity settings allow me to extremely accurately track a strafing enemy anywhere outside of 5m, though I suffer in melee range.
tl;dr Don't listen to the 100/100 crowd, Dust is not COD!

Edit: Also, seriously, seriously consider getting a pair of these, I hate to be a corporate shill but I genuinely can't play without them. I use the SNIPR model because I like the convex shape and the maximum length: http://www.kontrolfreek.com/fps.html
lol that was a bit below the belt. the last COD i played was MW2. i played socom on seal setting and MAG 100/100 and Killzone at 30/30 no hud as for DUST i use to play at 10/10 for a while than CCP make change to the gameplay i had t adjust it was 20/20 than 30/30 for a while when 1.7 came i went full 100/100 to keep up with the strafing and bunny hooping |

I generally shoot things with a mouse, since it's just a blatantly better input device, but Dust's mouse support is, well, godawful. Like I said above, I find that 100/100 makes me overreact to bunny hopping and strafing by moving my aim too far in the direction they're moving. It's best, if possible, to match their speed and track them throughout the whole movement.
