Probably not. If you are flying Pythons you'll just have to adjust to the cheap mechanics. Unfortunate but that's the reality of the situation. |

I've actually had instances in standard and militia dropships where assault dropships have hit them.
Unlike ADSs, our ships aren't fast enough to evade them. I feel like it would be a piece of cake to dodge a viper if you have any skill at all.

it would if/when you see them coming
I just find this to be a really cheap tactic and should of been fixed a long time ago it just allows people to spend under 100K to remove something worth 300-500K or more

This is only true for Caldari dropships. Gallente dropships can smash into things all day without fear of repercussions.

Collison damage should exist, but needs to be toned way down. Tanks roll all over eachother like a dame cuddle puddle, yet a tippity tap from an LAV causes it to turn into a powerthurst promotion?! It is sick. Aerial collisions should cause 50 hull damage, to both shps. Tackling can be a tactic, but not an I win button...

I agree 100% just pisses me off that I lose a ship cause some n00b can't figure out how easy it is to take out a dropship if they try and coordinate with their team I would be fine with even all shield and some/most armor as long as I had some chance to survive it while flying my python

You got hit by a noob... in a ship that flies like a bathtub with rockets attached to it... And I'm pretty sure if they crashed into you, they figured out how to easily take you down. There's no reason why something in a game like this should have only one counter. Being able to go outside the box and do something besides shooting your opponents is a good thing, and taking that way would only make the game less entertaining, as there would be no variation in how things played out.
Speaking of taking things down, did the forge guns (Ya know, the only weapon at the moment that can take out a dropship with relative consistency) ever get fixed?
Word of advice. Don't wanna get hit by some "n00b" willing to kill himself just to get you? Pay attention to the map. That RDV coming in off in the corner... it's not that hard to see or hear.
Also, look on the bright side. Whenever this happens, it means you pissed someone off enough that they're willing to run away from the battle in order to order a dropship just to get revenge. Your job is complete, you extracted tears and anger. Congratulations, you just won Dust.

I will happily ram another ADS or any dropship I decide is strategically important to remove from play, especially in PC, because dropship vs dropship fights are completely re-tarded, like watching 2 grannys in a hand bag fight, even when 2 stand nose to nose in the sky exchanging fire the weapons barely do enough dmg to over come the reps or hardeners, and if that does happen all one pilot has to do is move around a little till he reps up.
Because i don't like to be the guy with the problems and no solutions, I think ADS should do double damage to other dropships, hell just make small turrets do double dmg to dropships, it would give small turrets relevance on a whole lot of vehicles. (dmg bonus doesn't stack with vehicle dmg mods)

Mmm I once was directly on top of a Viper with my Python roughly 25 meters above the ground. I had the crazy idea to drop onto it and make it crash. Well, I succeeded and brought down all of its armor and shield, but I ended up with several hundred armor left so I kicked up my afterburner and flew to the flight ceiling swearing all the way up there lol

one tactic I noticed works very well is sneaking up on a dropship hitting him with a turret and watch him fly into a building! do it right and instant burn

I heart my Viper and its ability to absolutely ruin your ADS. TBH its just as cheap as Jihad-Jeeps, just as effective and shows players are adapting, you should adapt too. |

Not only has Isk disparity never been a valid argument against a tactic, it's one of the core mechanics od the game. If I can slap an RE on a militia suit and take out a couple of protobears, then you can take a pummeling from a Gorgon and you can like it.

I haven't had many instakill collisions in a dropship, except where one of the pilots was going full speed at another (which makes sense as an insta-splosion). What irritates me is the fact that RDV's are always an instakill (and come in invisible and out of nowhere). Also, when I come screaming out of the sky full speed in my Gorgon boat and smash into a mostly stationary Python, the Python should go down (at the very least). I should not bounce off of him and have no damage done at all.
As a further though, I wish there was a hidden 'structure' hp gauge, such that if you broke through the armor just barely, you fall out of the sky like you do now. But if your armor is down to 20 HP and you get hit with a Railgun or if you crash full speed straight into the ground, it should be an instant explosion. None of this time to hop out (or in the case of Kamikaze Dropships time for the tank to roll away). |

I assume everyone who wants to bump or ram into ships isn't a pilot, and doesn't understand the amount of effort and sp put into them. It is a bullshit "tactic". All you have to do is bump any dropship, whether friendly or enemy, and go down with them in a blazing ball of fire. The collision damage does need to be taken WAY down, but still needs to be there and noticeable, but not over 500 damage. |

I recently was practicing with an Incubus on my vehicle alt (as the ADS skill is multiracial, allowing the alt to fly it but without any of the racial bonuses) and saw a red gorgon follow a friendly gorgon (or Grimnses/whatever) under the overhang on the Gallente Lab socket. I subsequently followed him in and there was a little bumper car action until only I emerged alive.
Later in the same match I had a Viper/Myron go screaming past me while I was trying to land near a supply depot in my redline to rearm and watched as he augored into the ground. The pilot then flailed around for 2 seconds before the redline timer killed him.
Anyways, I've seen a lot of collisions over tmie but few were instant death. Some lead to collisions with structures or terrain that caused death, but I haven't seen too many ship-on-ship instakills, at least not lately.

A skilled small rail turret user will swat ADS out of the sky. So double damage isn't necessary, sm rails would literally waste other ADS way more than they already do. Just ask Gatlock, he is one fine sm rail user. I fear his presence.
And no one cares about ADS crashing in PC, that is an acceptable tactic there as you risk just as much by losing your own ship and compensation is likely to occur after the match. This issue is more about public matches where you are trying to make isk as an ADS pilot and 50k noobs can make fives games of profit disappear in one cowardly move.
This is not about pride as a pilot. Sould you crash into me then you used your available skill, it just is too accessible and cost effective. If my ships cost less, then I wouldn't care about being tackled mid flight. It's just making a profit for the average ADS pilot is not feasible.
