the needle is a bit broken to be honest. it requires something special to get it working properly and at the right time
my suggestion is this:
reduce hp percentage by about half across all of the version and then give it a HOT. the HOT should be about 20% per sec and each version of the needle would HOT for 1 sec more than the previous.
now this HOT would give triage points to the user probably at the same level as hive triage points promoting the use of higher tier ones.
this HOT would also persist after full heals until the max timer aiding in the survival rate of the person revived. will not award triage at full arm
MLT - no HOT / 20% BAS - 1sec / 20% ADV - 2sec / 30% PRO - 3sec / 40% FAC - 4sec / 50%
this would give a potential
MLT - 50wp BAS - 50wp + 10wp ADV - 50wp + 10wp +10wp PRO - 50wp + 10wp +10wp + 10wp FAC - 50wp + 10wp +10wp + 10wp +10wp
this would incentivece using a higher tier needle and increase survival rates of those revived if the user doesn't carry a repair

Currently MLT needles are best for farming WP. I agree that there needs to be an incentive to use better grade in general pub matches, as winning isn't as important in those.

obviously killing someone mid revive would cut off the triage so if you really want to maximise your wp you better make sure they can survive
+1... I've played logi since closed beta (2 Resets)... I've always agree'd that complex needle should award more WP then a Dirty needle (mlt/basic)
Another really useful function is to allow the person being rezzed a option to accept or decilne... Really frustrating when people use you as a quick WP farm. Or better yet, A shield Needle... Rezzes you with 1 Armor and 25/50/75% Shields

+1 I like this idea. Would also give me reason to actually skill into needles. As it is right now i use standard needles with a rep tool so i can get more wp's out of it. |

i use standard needle and a proto rep tool just so i can fit a half decent 3rd piece and enough arm not to be 1 shot by every other class. with needles like this there is potential to bring logi costs down by using lesser repair tools with proto needles to a much better effect.

I don't see this happening frankly. Plus I am not sure what you are actually trying to change. Are you wanting the WP to change, the actual user interface mechanism for using the needle itself* or what exactly? Does HOT mean a HOT Key?
* The UI in this game is pretty spotty as it is. You might or might not know this but the current mechanism was because they completely broke the needle. I quit carrying them because they used a slot and didn't work. ...but I like your mechanics better.
However, I would prefer a smaller base number and a slightly longer timer.
This idea might also encourage people to carry both needles and report tools - since repping someone would also help improve their servivability, resulting in more HOT bonus.

-1 This idea is not new player friendly. A better solution wood be a timer for the WP when using a nanitinjector. The user should get WP only if the reviewed persons survives for x seconds. That's more in the game spirit and will prevent abuse.
No gear should be the reason for more WP but how you use it. |

how does new player friendly come into it. every player is branded under the same process. use better gear for better rewards. for a weapon its better efficiency which earns you more kills so more wp. for a needle it doesn't make a difference which you use. having a timer wouldn't change anything between the types. what it will do is make most players who do use them properly stop using them as idiots just revived throw themselves in the line of fire. that will most certainly punish users

how do you apply that to hives. better hives = more wp potential the same can be said for scanners and repair tools although their ability to generate more WP varies due to their efficiency at doing their job

I prefer the 80% over a hot as well because that extra HP from proto means that I can emergency revive and repair people in a firefight.

but you would actually be better off. not only in wp but in overall effectiveness.
your proto needle would be worth 100% heals and if you heal at the same time your hot increases the players survival after you stop your heal. in the time it takes for the player to stand up he would already have received 60% -80% at proto. remember the first 1-2 secs is animation. this buys time to switch to a repair tool if required. what you are getting at proto is more reward for more effect while lower gets less than current
