 Melee in Dust is very limited in its combat use. Compared to most guns, it just can't compete. Sure stacking MyoStims can pull some impressive damage numbers, but it's difficult to actually apply that damage. The slow-down-when-shot-effect and hits not registering when Meleeing a moving enemy only add to it's difficulty.
 
 Maybe Melee should only be used as a last resort or for finishers, but if that's the case then why do MyoStims exist? You'd think that having a Module that specifically augments Melee would be an indicator that Melee is supposed to have some viability.
 
 I personally think CCP should expand on Melee more. Not Melee weapons like the Nova Knives(although I'm not against additional Melee weapons), but straight up punching people. Give MyoStims additional bonuses, make a Melee-centric dropsuit class, or make some kind of Melee oriented equipment. I actually have an idea for a piece of "equipment" I call the Berserker, I'll post about it if anyone's interested in reading about it.
 
 So what do you all think about Melee? Should it be expanded upon? Or left as a novelty and last resort?

 TBH if I get close enough to you undetected and press R3, you should die from my well placed knife. I shouldn't have to equip it or even buy them. Making knives a stand alone weapon is a joke.
 
 Who would get close enough to snap someone's neck that they decide to elbow them instead??? This is just one simple way that tells you CCP is out of touch.

 Arirana does just fine with a melee based Mk.0 scout...

 Melee only is a nieche that involves a lot more than just slapping myofibs on a scout, and it should stay a nieche, unless we want Clackmando 514.

 Most games make melee a last resort or novelty, and some games make pure melee a viable form of combat.
 
 CCP sorta went half way with it in Dust though.
 
 You have MyoStims which can allow you to punch people harder, but that's it. All it does is increase damage, but in no way aids the user in effectively applying that damage and so it still functions as a last resort/novelty.

 I got a melee kill today. Was using my adv minni logi 1vs1. I emptied my magazine, rush forward and finished him off with the "People's Elbow". That is exactly how the melee system should continue to work. f you want a solo melee class, do us all a favor and go back to COD already.

 It's absurdly low, 80 for scouts, 120 for mediums and 160 for heavies.
 Scouts should have 160, mediums should have 200 and heavies 240.
 
 Stacking myo stims doesn't really work if the base values are low, since they are percentage based.

 I think the Minmatar Scout should have a bit higher than 160 though. +1 Otherwise. Well yeah, Minmatar scout is an exception, just like right now it would have an extra 30 damage.

 Yeah. But anything more than what we have now will take innovation on CCP's part. Melee is best done in 3PS but this is a FPS so it'll be hard...

 I've experimented with melee builds on my min assault. You are far better off with a shield extender though. I usually use melee on unsuspecting targets rather than a finishing move. It's quite effective to throw an elbow first, then spray and pray to finish.

 When I realized exactly how good this was in 1.3 I started training it but it was much harder to sneek up on people then. But now it definetly has more value but only in a min scout
