It is time to earn extra Skill Points from April 16 to April 23!
The event will start at 11:30am GMT on April 16 and end at 11:00am GMT on April 23. Players will receive 5 times the normal SP from War Points earned during a match. The weekly Skill Point cap will be boosted to 3 times the normal amount during the week as well, meaning that you will be able to earn as much as 970,000 SP during these dates!

Not sure how we get to 970,000... Are you including passive SP gain during that time? Because without booster 3x cap is about 567,000 ... With normal booster it's about 850,000 ... And with active omega it would be north of 1.1 mil.
Hey I am the last person to poke fun at anyone's math skills, just requesting clarification to make sure boosters will work.

As much as I love these accelerated SP weekends, I wish the events would incentivize winning more. I see so many AFK farmers during these events and it's really annoying.

they are only given sp for war points made, so they won't be able to make any more points than normal from AFKing

I run the Minmatar commando personally, so I'm not the best one to ask on the Gallente commandos, but I suppose they all function in a similar manner. I can't really recommend these suits, but I can't hate on them too much, because they do have a purpose and they fulfill that purpose quite well. The Gallente commando is... well, okay, that one I can't recommend at all, because the assault rifle and other gallente weapons that this suit gives a bonus to are kinda... crap, at least in comparison to the rail rifles and combat rifles. Unless you're specced into the assault rifles already and have a high proficiency in them, I'd say avoid the commandos. The 10% damage bonuses are nice, and the reload speed as well, but you really don't start seeing the full benefit of the suits till you hit proto level, so it's kinda all or nothing.
Again, not the best person to ask. I've been kinda regretting my decision since I made it, but there are worse things you can spec into.

They did, but a lot of people purchased several of the 3 day ones during the last SP event that they were offered, thus a few people are going to be making some nice SP points over the course of this event.

You guys can't read? This is a DUAL event. The base is 3 times the cap.
The second part is you will get 5x sp for every WP you earn.
The second part you will have to wait for.

This doesn't make sense though.

The 'normal amount' is 190400, so "3 times the normal amount" is 570k not 970k
If you were to add the regular weekly ontop to get your 970k (almost bang on) then why not call it what it is, a 4x sp pool.

Boosters never work by doubling the SP pool. Instead you get bonus SP based on the type of booster. It applies outside of the SP pool.
So if the pool is 571k, you will get an additional 571k in bonus SP with the 7-day omega active booster. |

Yeah, even with boosters you'd have to play the same amount as if you weren't using the booster. Obviously you'll cap out faster if you can get higher WP scores though, especially with this event as the SP from WP is 5x. |

Anybody else noticing that the SP payout at the end of matches is not as high as expected? I'm scoring as high as I usually do in terms of WPs, but not seeing the extra SP from it.

Looks like its only 5x sp from WP. Not 5x active sp. so you won't be getting a boost for the sp you get just for playing. |

OK. But that still means that if I get 1000 WP, I should get 5000 SP? And then 5 SP per second spent in game?
I was still expecting more SP to show up in the end-of-match screen. Need to play harder I guess!

The first part is correct, the second is not.
The 5x skillpoints only affects those gained from WP, as you stated. It does not affect the sp gained for time in battle.

I'm not usually one to complain about events, or anything in this F2P game really. However, this accelerated SP is hitting when my two play styles (Forge Gun and Gallente Scout) are badly bugged. It actually pains me to play, and I'll likely not cap this one out. **** me. |

Just fin playing and maxed out, the omega active booster increases the rate that you make SP and takes it ALL out of the SP bonus pool of points.

Your 100k pool is now 85K. As you can see you do not get 2x your starting pool of sp, all bonus sp is used for boosters all the booster does is get you your sp faster not more sp than pool allows. |

I'm sorry, but the math you just described contradicts what you say. If you gain 30K SP in a match but your pool drops by only 15K, then you are in fact getting a free 15K of SP that still stays in your pool, which is in fact how boosters work. In a normal week, 200K SP pool, with a regular week booster, if you cap you gain 300K SP instead of that 200K faster. Otherwise, there is zero point to the boosters. |
