I had a lot of fun whacking people with it earlier today. Haven't used it since 1.5, and I've forgotten how people desperately hop around to get rid of that bzzzzzsht! sound :)

Not sure if I would go that far Cat, but it sure as hell is more viable than it used to be. Long were the MD and Laser Rifle the red headed step children, but no more!

It's not a sniper rifle and it never will be. Stop suggesting that.
However yes the laser now fulfils its intended purpose and does it well....but in all honestly the laser has been able to do that for a couple of builds now.

It is very good at range, to the point of OP. I am not saying that it is but any changes that make it any better and the tears will fall. I don't use Amarr suits with bonuses to lasers so I don't know if the Armarr suit bug is fixed but if it isn't then then the LR may be in some trouble on down the pike.

Scouts/cloaks are nice and all, but the renewed LR is where it's at! 1.7 was lame and entirely too devoid of laz0rs. New Eden shall be renewed by our cleansing light.
Only problem is my timing is a bit off after using it sparingly in 2014, overheating too much.

I totally agree. I have my ADS at 20 (i.e. rediculously low) and my aim jumps all over the place, particularly with clumsy analog sticks. To be honest, I really shouldn't have speced into it, but just couldn't help myself now that the range was more reasonable. |

It's all in your head. You can't see the bullet path of your other weapons as well, seeing the whole thing causes one to overreact and give the illusion of higher sensitivity.

Yes, the DPS when in optimal and heated up is outstanding. I don't think it is OP right now but it is close, any changes that increase DPS may push it over the top. I love the LR, I have two prototype weapons and one is the LR. It is very, very effective and it has the chance to be QQed about. Like I said, I don't know if the Armarr suit heat bug is still there but if it is then when it is fixed we may be in for the new FotM. I think the LR is perfect right now but I am worried that the bug fix may push it over the edge. I wish I was a better shot so I could use it better because I do love that weapon. Nothing else in the game is like it and if a merc is good with it then it is super powerful.

I played for a little bit last night and got hit with one and man, that thing tried to weld me to the ground. I was in my fat suit so I was already slow as hell but when that thing hit me it felt like I was fighting against a tractor beam. It scared me, I didn't know what dafuq was going on.

I have a hard time with it when aiming at range. I use a fat suit to help some because I have such a hard time with it and the fat suit seems to tone it down some.

I totally agree, 1.7 even seemed different to me and I used it on advanced Amarr suits. At optimal is is harder to control than other weapons, it may just be me but it does seem to be very difficult at its optimal.

Yes but I mainly use the ScR and that fiddling messes with my senses so I just don't bother with it when I'm only going to use it in one situation.
