Dust is literally this guys.......
An obscure fps 'linked' to eve that no one cares about. Literally, the end game in dust is Kain's wallet lol, no hatred there, its funny. I'd suggest everyone who is capable, download eve and find out for yourself.
I'm skilling my pilot to be a pro miner, then once iv got the farming mechanic nailed, I'll be getting OBS for min fw but like any decent hardcore mmo, I literally have no clue wtf I'm doing lol.

If I could have it my way, eve would run the show and we'd be the mercs we were supposed to be. But of course your average dust merc wants to be some 'demi god', they don't know or understand their place as merc in new eden., we are owned entities lol.
Game won't get good until CCP puts dust in its place, granted the whole lobby experience will get better but on the whole, this games going anywhere until eve pilots run the show and I stand by that firmly.

This is a lobby shooter right now, you and many others are lying to yourselves when you call this an MMO or an MMO-FPS. Its not even close to being what it's suppose to be, an MMO-FPS. In its current state, DUST isn't functionally MMO. But it is still part of a game in that genre. We're currently beta-testing the mechanics of the FPS and ground-combat unit customisation minigames that CCP have added to the persistent MMO they already have as a complement and counterpoint to the spaceship construction, flight and combat minigames in the PC-based client for the actual MMO game which these minigames will eventually be integrated into. DUST isn't a standalone title. EVE is also not a standalone title. Both of them are client-based minigames within New Eden, which is a massively multiplayer social, political and economic simulator. EVE Online is a PC-based client for the game, and is currently well-integrated into the core of New Eden's gameplay, with an extensive and feature-complete series of interconnected minigames for building and piloting spaceships as well as the tools for managing social and political connections and finances. DUST is far from feature-complete, with core mechanics still being worked on as well as core content yet to be implemented, and the majority of New Eden's core features are yet to be implemented into the beta client so far. Elements of the social aspect of New Eden have been finding their way into DUST slowly ever since the game was in closed beta. The political side has seen its beginnings with basic Corp functions being incorporated into the game, but these are still limited in scope compared with the tools available on the EVE client. The financial aspect is currently only being simulated by the dev-controlled marketplace, instead of being a truly player-created experience worthy of New Eden. |

I just started playing eve about two weeks ago too. It's crazy complicate but it gives me a lot of hope for Dust. I know it's gonna be a while but in a few more years hopefully Dust is a game worth caring about on the PS4 or PC.
It'll probably never be relavent as long as it's being held back by the PS3. |

Eve is a universe of many worlds, while one world can have a large effect on another from time to time, generally life goes on without ppl noticing, a person who mines, chats with friends while online and now and then gets ganked by a wardeccing corp is miles apart from a low sec pilot, faction war soldier or a nullsec loyalist.
its not unusual that dust hasn't made much of an impact on eve because the region we fight over is a marginal backwater no one gives two Fs about, in faction war ppl might care a little with the modifier we have on things but faction warfare is so tied up with RPtards and blow in farmers that our modifier doesn't matter much at all, systems only change hands when a group of players with the numbers and ships decide to flip it, our efforts have a marginal effect at best.
This game will only matter to eve when we affect more than one region or influence nullsec sovereignty.

It's sad but true, most of what happens in dust has almost zero effect on eve as a whole and that's a shame.
Also what others have said about mining is correct, when you're starting out mining is probably the absolute worst thing you can do (with manufacturing being worse still). Your refining and m^3 / hour will both suck until you get some serious levels in the various mining skills.

ah i forgot to make my point, there are worlds within eve that have no effect on each other as well, low sec pirates couldn't careless what nullsec alliance controls what nullsec region they just wanna yarr around, nullsec alliances couldn't careless about low sec unless its the route into their space or ppl are using capitals then they'll come and kill them, people in empire couldn't careless about either because they are scrubs paying to play a single player version of an mmo.

One of the things that EVE is very bad at is connecting player sub-groups in any kind of meaningful way, coupled with losec being largely irrelevant in any larger geopolitical way. Also still blob combat after all these years and tendency of game design to encourage the blue donut, which we're already seeing in DUST.
EVE has made a lot of laudable progress in some areas, in others areas it has lain stagnant for 10 years.

Pro Tip: Mining is for suckers. FW complexes, as someone else already suggested, and the Sisters epic arc should set you on the path to getting a battleship and running Incursions for some real ISK. Then, you can PLEX your account and play for free.
EVE is totally dope, but I've only been updating my toons' skill queues. Dust has me by the bwawls! No matter what anyone says re: Dust sucking, being incomplete, yada, yada, yada, I think it's a fun, engaging game that has more good things going for it than bad things slowing it down.
With Valkyrie in the mix, I have daydreams of all the potentially ridiculously cool places the New Eden IP could go. Imagine: mercs have new contracts, say "Siege Contracts"; they choose this option. An EVE capsuleer in a new sort of ship flies up to an enemy POS, right-clicks it, and chooses the "Bridge to POS" option, whilst his fleetmates take out turrets and other POS-related structures. After "bridging" to the POS, our capsuleer remains put, a sort of sitting duck with logistics/warfare link potential. At this point, our mercs find themselves spawning in a room in the capsuleer's ship, connected to the POS. They start storming the POS, hacking certain points along the way and shooting NPCs in their faces. dropping uplinks, etc., so teammates don't have to respawn at the beginning. While this is happening, Valkyrie pilots are sent out from the POS to engage enemy drones/frigates (or whatever like-sized craft makes sense). Should the mercs hack all of their objectives in time/before getting cloned, the POS belongs to whatever corp issued the contract, everyone gets paid, the EVE fleet continues whatever it was doing, Dust mercs biomass back to their cabins, Valkyrie pilots land. Should the siege fail, the support fleet and Valkyrie crafts are likely mostly or entirely lost, the merc team has been cloned, the issuing corp has lost considerable ISK and time. Siege costs would cover merc clones, Valkyrie ships, payouts, etc., and would be less than the cost of setting up a POS, to incentivize people to lay siege vs. setup a new POS.
This would hecka much bridge all the games, and provide PVE for Dust/Valkyrie players!

Siege costs would cover merc clones, Valkyrie ships, payouts, etc., and would be less than the cost of setting up a POS, to incentivize people to lay siege vs. setup a new POS.
This would hecka much bridge all the games, and provide PVE for Dust/Valkyrie players!
A boy can dream...
