Eh, I've lasered cloaked scouts and have been lasered in turn, when cloaked. I've been shot out of cloak by AR commandos that never pinged on radar and have watched lines of cloaked scouts running single-file to the next objective. That was actually kinda cool. Anyway, my point is as bad of a player that I am, I'm still seeing cloaks and ruining their game when I can and it's happening to me just as much---I mean, if we're speaking only on opinion and anecdotal evidence and such.
Shotgun is fun, but as cal scout I'm enjoying the AR more. I'll play with more weapons as I get more comfortable. My point is, sooner or later I have a feeling a lot of kills will be less de-cloaks at point-blank-range. Instead, save time by using cloak to get map advantage, then kill at range. That will put scouts pretty much at the place everyone else has been to the scout for some builds now. Just the scout will be able to get there faster and easier. I'm not complaining.
Yesterday I saw a scout de-cloak on me as I was hacking an Objective. I instinctively backed off assuming he had a shotgun (who hasn't, since release?), pulled my AR and started to fire only to die instantly to his FG. It took me a minute to figure out wtf just happened. It was brilliant. Everyone started with SG. Now a lot of scouts SEEM to be switching it up learning to counter typical fits. That or they're getting bored. Either way, the scout class is diversifying and it's not been two weeks. In that same time, I'm seeing non-cloaked players adapt, visually scanning the area for blurry motion, and not just running blind into a hack. I wonder what another two weeks will bring? I repeat from another post: to kill a rabbit you have to think like a rabbit. Hell, we're pretty squishy if we're specced for hide-n-go-seek.
Off topic, I'm really enjoying running up on another cloaked scout. He saw me but isn't quite sure where I am. So we spend the next 30+ seconds slowly moving in a circle hoping the other decides to run for it. That or shotgunning each other in the face for a double-kill. I always msg those with a big grin.

Losing a 250-500k tank to a free lav with a couple of remotes and a standard fit is ludicrous. Hardeners should ALWAYS win over jihads. And this "good portion" which thinks scouts are balanced are....scouts ! We have no problem with the fact scouts are cloaked or that they can be on our back every ten 10sec. The problem is their potential ehp which is.....really too high. 750ehp for a scouts that is cloaked AND always start a fight behind you is impossible to win.
Let's take an exemple (proto) : (We could take heavies or logi or commando or assault it's the same.)
Assault : 800/900ehp Scout : 750ehp.
- Scout is cloaked -Scout is behind assault. - scout start the fight -scout makes approx 400 damage. (with Shotgun or Light weapon.) => (with actual DPS it's about 1.5 sec.) - Assault turn back and start shooting. Scout life : 750 Assault Life : 400.
Scout hitbox is about 1/2 of other suits, they can dodge, strafe at very high speed. Assault (or anything else) die.
This is the problem, scout will ALWAYS shoot the first, so IF he actually have near the same ehp than the other suit....then how the **** could you think it's balanced ?
We just ask a lower scout potential ehp. |

And Anti-Vehicules stuff should win against vehicules, actually nope. Sorry but with less than 16 full sync Mercs AND 5/6 orbital strike from EVE, AND a Titan crashing into the Tank you can't actually destroy a STD tank. Do you think it's NORMAL ?
Oh and i see you... "omg you suck last time i destroyed a tank with my AV stuff LOLLOLOL" Oh with triple proto stuff, suit and full squad you destroyed a MILITIA tank ? WOAAAW impressive He'll be back in ten seconds. While it takes you 10 ******* minutes to destoy it. Seems legit. |

Against certain fits, solo AV is still weak by comparison to soloing in a tank. Even with the hardner nerf solo av mainly just pushes tanks away. Only really good forgers, with a prime location, can solo kill a tank. Most others will either be killed by said tank, or the tank will simply move away from the forgers position. The reason tanks seem to be easy to use solo is because of the tiericide in 1.7 and with little emphasis on SP cost. Bring back tiers and bring back the SP costs needed to have a decent tank and tanks won't be such a problem. Also, I must disagree. Not everyone should be able to take out a tank solo. In fact, the majority shouldn't be able to; only the really skilled players should be able to.

IN ALL FPS the main stats of weapons are : GÖª RANGE GÖª ROF GÖª DAMAGE
Good Range + High Damage = Low RoF Good Range + Good RoF = Low Damage High RoF + Low Range = High Damage LOW RoF + Low Range = MASSIVE Damage
SHOTGUNS are the last. ANY weapon that has only 1 of the 3 Atributes will have a massive increase in the last one:
Example= The MAgnum .44 in BF3: Low Range + Low RoF = Massive Damage
Also applies with the other attributes like: Low Damage + Low Range : Massive RoF
So, you cant complain that someone that needs to be 5mts away from you, while you are packing a good range + good damage + good RoF weapon (like all rifles, that at OVERALL good) kills you in one or 2 shots because its YOUR fault you didnt use the range at your advantage.
