I think part of the problem is that I have to play the game with a total team cooperative focus but the heavies I rep aren't always in that mode and it gets me killed. It pisses me of when I'm helping them but they don't try to keep me alive. Or all the times I end up in situations where I'm trying to find their dumb asses and get killed on the way. I'll give it more time....I do like the new role-based paradigm. I think logis need more survivability though. Unfortunately, you're not going to get a lot of sympathy here... People are still perturbed about SlayerLogis, and may continue to be for some time.
As a MinLogiBro myself, I can confirm the biggest differences in 1.8 for a healer/support role is the lack of (reasonable) solo options and the distinct requirement for running with a competent squad - noting that a squad does not need to be all heavies for us to be helpful, but they definitely need to work in a coordinated fashion. I have squaded with some pretty advanced players who all had a more individual/solo style and my contribution to the group (and resulting WPs) was minimal. I have also squaded with less advanced, but still good, players who operated more like a coordinated unit and both my and my squad-mates' performances were enhanced. (The last match I played resulted in my squad holding the top 5 of 6 spots on the final leader board - I was #6.)
Hope that helps.
TL;DR - As a medic/support Logi, only squad with team oriented players.

zzZaXxx wrote:Well yeah. I should have specified the advanced suit. I'm not fool enough to go running around in a proto suit with things as they are. As an Advanced MinLogi myself, I recognized what you meant. :-) (It's funny how most people assume everyone is a Proto player.)
My most common fit is 330 shield, 360 armour rig: - 3x comp shields - 2x adv armour - 1x adv arm rep - triage rep tool - K2 or Quantum hives - KIN injector - flux grenade - breach SMG or std AR
If one or two other people in the squad are running injectors, I might swap mine for a repping hive. As you might notice, I sacrifice fire-power to carry the best gear I can fit in an advanced suit.

That's the only way I'm going to learn and find a comfort zone. I'll be willing to sacrifice suits to learn because they'll be so cheap. That's my epiphany and advice to other logis. We need to embrace the chaos and learn how to move around in the middle of it without giving away easy kills. Logi is gonna be a special kind of kung fu from now on. With the 1.8 respec, I reinvested in the same Advanced Min Logi suit and put all surplus SP into core skills. As I now do not have any other suits skilled, I have found that running Militia Scout suits solo in pub matches has been great practise for improving my situational awareness - especially with so many invisible shotty-scouts running around - and has been a LOT less expensive than running a Logi suit without a squad. And better awareness has helped me survive longer when running with a squad.
