If you really want to use a KB/M in Dust then get a XIM. Native support has only gotten worse with each 'fix'. Do yourself a favor, AA with a mouse is excellent.
@Kingcheckmate, CCP announced & implemented native KB/M support for DUST. Why shouldn't someone who has been playing FPS' for over a decade with a KB/M, continue to do so?
I have said it before, people like me will ALWAYS use a mouse when playing FPS', console be damned. The fact that CCP gave us native support was a plus for everyone(CCP has total control, IE no AA). But since CCP has consistently ruined KB/M controls over multiple updates, I have long since switched back to an old Tuact mouse controller(which is in all ways cheaper & crappier than my RAT7). & to say it works better is an understatement. |

You're trying to make an argument about a SECONDARY method of input. Frankly that you can use the mouse and keyboard at all is a large gratuity for you. :/ You know the phrase: "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth."? That's basically what you're doing. Then explain why it has consistently gotten worse since it was implemented? Kb/M support was never perfect in Dust, but at least it was a viable option in the past. All we want is raw input, no AA, no fluff, no frills. But until then I will continue to use a mouse anyway & take advantage of all the perks DS3 users get. |

Unless you have a health condition that prevents you from fully utilizing a Dual Shock 3, i think KBM is just a very try-hard thing to use....
Just saying. Some of us didn't grow up using controllers and it's just too hard for us. Im 28. I played Computer games YEARS before i got my first console a Super Nintendo. I guess im a genius since i can use a DS3 pretty well without the need to use a mouse that lets you insta aim at the enemies' HEAD without any effort at all...
BUT OK.ANYHOW, Dust is not a PC game, K&M should be removed considering is an unfair advantage some players have just because they have the $ to buy them... If my posts above haven't made it obvious. Removing Kb/M support will not stop people who prefer to use a mouse. The mouse doesn't let you insta aim, that's called Aim Assist. The mouse is simply a more intuitive input method for aiming, period. While the analog sticks are less than ideal, but easy to use while sitting on the couch. I haven't used a DS3 for FPS' on console in at least 6 years, why start now? |

Look, videogames are meant for our enjoyment. If I don't enjoy a particular control device, I will use another that is more comfortable. To say the Kb/M is EZ-mode, is an ignorant statement. My average weekly KDR nearly tripled, when I stopped trying to use native mouse support with Dust. A mouse emulator using DS3 as a input has been far more effective. Though I hate how it feels with rather jerky movement compared to direct mouse input. Slap on some AA & all is well. The reality it Kb/m players are & have been at a disadvantage, While DS3 gets AA.
Kb/M is not EZ-mode, AA is. & until CCP give Kb/m raw input, I will continue to use DS3's advantages with my prefered input method. |

I did not know BF3/4 supported Kb/M on console? If you use a Kb/M on a console game that, 1)doesn't support it & 2)has generous auto-aim/aim assist. Then I agree that you do get a unfair advantage. Which is why native support is so important, so that the devs can prevent mouse user from using the same aim assist as DS3 players. But ATM the mouse is not raw input, & it often moves on it's own in the middle of a firefight(unacceptable). Just try plugging in a Kb/M in Dust before you speak of you experiences. |

Cat Merc wrote:I've been a PC player since forever, my first console was the PS3.
You know how long it took me before I could aim right with the DS3? An hour.
Youk now how long it took before I was competitive in online games? A week.
The "we didn't grow up on controllers" bullshit is no excuse, pick up a controller and learn to use it. I know how to use a controller. I have had a console right next to my PC for almost 2 decades. I still & will forever choose not to for FPS', regardless of platform or native support. Simply because I want to & can.
There are games on PC that feel better with a controller & I can simply plug 1 in. A mouse is better for aiming, period. & that's what I use, period. |

gravalicious wrote: Then don't play Dust and quit your crying.
I'm not crying. I use a mouse & have aim assist. & until CCP simply gives us raw input, I will continue to do so like I have for the past 6yrs on my PS3. Do you think I used a DS3 while playing MAG? nope. But interesting enough MAG had absolutely no AA & I stood no better of a chance than a proficient DS3 user. The only ones really crying are DS3 users, crying unfair mouse is EZ-mode etc... when they clearly have not actually tried it with Dust. |
