Yeah my teach is reading it to us in class but since you have such an obvious love for the book I'll try not to fall asleep next time she reads.

Never read it. When I was in High school, we had the choice to read "To Kill a Mocking Bird" or "Black boy."

I chose Black boy, because we were told that we would only have to read the first half. Unfortunately the first half was still longer.

I will add that to my list of crap to read on the crapper. I just finished reading The Da Vinci code.

My opinion of that book would probably be higher if i did not read angels and demons right before it. Dan brown is a brilliant author but he has a one track mind. Using the same twists in other books. For a thriller mystery... the mystery was taken out of it once I caught on to the authors mode of thinking. It wouldn't have been so predictable if I hadn't read his other books. He is still a good author though and writes exceptionally intellegent books.

The new book I am reading now is not really fiction but more of a biography of Leonardo da vincis artwork and life. IT is called Da Vinci code decoded but its just about all the professional life of leonardo. I am also reading Holy blood, Holy grail. Once I finish these too... I may just follow up on your suggestion, my brilliant alt.

How you read any of his other novels? The Lost Symbol and Inferno are both novels in the Robert Langdon series. He also has two stand alones in Deception Point and Digital Fortress. Both the stand alones are pretty solid novels. The only issue is, as you mentioned, he is a script writer. Each book has the same format as all the other. He changes the antagonist, the plot, and the location, but in the end it is all the same. I almost stopped reading Inferno because it felt like the same book. I do have to admit at about page 120 or so, it finally got interesting.

Great book. Your thread reminds me of an article that stated people who read are likely to be more empathetic and tolerant of different people.

PS: To Kill a Mockingbird" is an absolutely brilliant novel. Read that first.

And, for the love of all things holy, stay away from "Catcher in the Rye" That is the most mindless drivel I've ever endured. Salinger took away hours of my life when I read that crap for an Adolescent Lit class in college.
