everyone should be IP locked to their own battle server, im sick of people coming into Oceania and MCC camping and using it as a joke server. IP lock each player to their closest region and then open an international server so that people can still squad up with others that aren't in their area.
also open up Basic, Advanced and Proto Tier matches so that you have to select what level gear you use before going into a match so that people with basic gear don't get put up against Protos. If you have 1 piece of proto gear on your suit you can only use that suit in the Proto Tier matches. keeps it balanced and level and most of all enjoyable. |

Wont matter if u tier lock a server u can put me in a militia suit and i will still use assault DS with xt missles wont make a difference.

i run std/miltia gear. no i dont like mcc camping but this just doesnt help anyone. what proof can you provide that it will help?

Yes, because that's going to work for PC when you have players from Asia trying to invade a territory held by an EU corp.
And Corps with members from various regions certainly wouldn't be completely screwed by this proposal.
And someone like me who's completely nocturnal should be perfectly happy to be the only active player on their server whenever I'm awake.
For the above reasons, I wholeheartedly agree with this suggestion.
NOTE: In case you can't tell, I don't actually agree at all. It's a terrible idea. |

Did you even read what i posted?
in case you haven't noticed severs are never empty, doesn't matter what time it is.
PC would always be set to international
corps with various players in different regions could play on international servers or be region specific
i don't see anyone else with any ideas on how to balance this game because right now the balancing in this game is **** |

It's completely unrelated.
Also, region locking never fixes as many problems as it leaves unaddressed even when you're looking at what it DOES affect, which is matchmaking. The problems caused by fully unlocked matchmaking are all about lag, and with proper management of netcode and ping tolerances, you can fix more problems more completely than you can with any kind of regional restrictions. You also avoid the problems where some ISPs around the world use IP addresses which are normally associated with another region. |

I argued solidly against one of them. The other is totally irrelevant to my post. It's also a proposal that's been suggested many times before, and which I've agreed with in the past. You actually proposed almost exactly the method of enforcement I've suggested.
That doesn't negate the fact that most of your post was about the other suggestion, which was terrible. The only way regional matchmaking would be plausible is if they don't apply it to Planetary Conquest, Factional Warfare or any matches where players are able to squad up with their corpmates (pro-tip: That would be all of them). Including a good balancing suggestion alongside a completely stupid and totally unrelated idea doesn't magically make the stupid idea less of a stupid idea. |

thats easy CCP should start handing out temp bans to ppl that do it, once a few ppl get banned and whine on their alts to their friends, ppl will stop doing it, if they don't start handing out some 3 month bans.

The funniest thing? This game is actually awarding people with worse latency and long range weapons. Wanna see how? Change your server to different zone and go rail rifle or laser rifle on peeps, keeping your maximum effective distance. With laser you only need to leave margin for overheat, as it lags the same as reloading your weapon. Not a problem with rail. Other than that you basically evaporate people that don't wear heavy-like tank.
CCP should make "international" servers as "free for all", and zone servers, where you're gonna get kicked if your latency is over 150ms. I would then not have to fight with full squads for lagging yanks on EU servers. How do I know it will never happen? Because it would be awesome, that's why.
Also Oceania is best for MCC guard duty, let's all meet up there!
SL dumbfire, DS bumpercars, Scout beast-mode. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time.. to die.

All this will do is allow vets/stompers with maxed cores to stomp even harder against people who are forced to use lower gear instead of by choice. Also a basic racial frame with level 5 bonus will offer yet more advantage to the stompers against academy graduates/newberries in low tier matches. |
