Until we get some sort of change to cloaked scouts, I will no longer be running logistics. So let me see if i got it straight. You used LOGI suits pre 1.8, and NOW you are using scouts, ANd somehow scouts are the Scrubs EZ moders....just trying to let that sink....
1. Sound when decloaking. Agreed. This sound is not only too low, Not working 100% of the time, but also they sound EXACTLY the same as when an ALLY is decloaking, making the habit of turning around EVERY TIME you hear the noise an annoying habit.
2. Not being able to fire when cloaked. Decloaking could be more immediate, TRUE.BUT , i doubt this will stop players from COMPLAINING about cloaks.You see, cloaks are used to ambush or to flee,and USUALLY when a scout is stalking someone, he is behind him.Me myself use the cloak,and as soon as the enemy player has his back towards me i decloak and get close, so in the case of my play style i wouldn't be affected by this mechanic change, since even while NOT using the cloak,the enemy already has no way of establishing visual contact with me.....
3. Fitting requirements that make you sacrifice HP intensive modules for the cloak. Fitting requirements are ok. The cloak is meant specially for SCOUTS ,and a 800+HP Med frame like a logi for example , with Cloak would make cloaked scouts purposeless,specially because of the (example) logistics player didnt need to sacrifice so much, he could ALSO stack Kin Cats and achieve scout level speed,while with a cloak,more equipment slots and overall more HP.Logis being able to do Heavy/scout work better than the Heavy/scout themselves was a big ISSUE we had pre 1.8.While talking about CLOAKING, the scout should be the best choice for it PERIOD.Now be grateful CCP didnt make cloaks SCOUT ONLY equipment (as it should be) but actually gave you a CHANCE of using cloaks without having to invest in a scout suit.
NOT TO MENTION, you are complaining about TANKED scouts,yet you want the cloak to be easier to fit...AKA, scouts with even MORE HP. _________________________________________
But now scouts can be the ultimate frontline fighter with large pools of HP, the ability to see everyone and anyone (besides other scouts) AND make sure that no one can find them.
Well,let me tell you. a Scout cannot do ALL that at the same time.If you HP tank a scout,you are loosing Speed AND a great deal of e-war capacity. A tanked scout is simply a light assault,with less HP,lack of assault bonuses, but a cloak and better radar functions. You might think a 700hP gallente scout is the worst it can happen to you,but that scout has the ultimate disadvatage while engaging Heavies and other Scouts. Heavies will dissapear those 700HP the same as for a 350HP scout. with a 0.5 sec difference at most. And other scouts will be able to track that scout better. I run in my Gk.0 different module sets,but the most common one has: 2 cx Precision enhancers 1 cx range amplifiers 1 Cx Profile dampener 2 cx kinetic catalizer Believe me , and i have killed tons of scouts in my only 2 days of playing 1.8 because they simply appear all the time in my radar and cant even out run me.
So many people have told me that I need to use my eyes, and that I need to squad up with other scouts now... But then why don't scouts have to use their eyes? And why do I need a scout in my squad just to counter other scouts? Who says scouts dont have to use our eyes? AS a scout, im more vulnerable to a Shotgun than anyone else. Now i do use my eyes, i do see the deception quite easily. Its VERY simple, if you know what you are looking for.
That's like people saying I need to carry AV with me all the time in case a tank shows up, and that I should run with a tanker to counter other tanks. This is what cloaked scouts feel like to me and yet no one else seems to feel this way. Very smart that you figured that out. Something is not to be changed because a small amount of players feel its wrong.
Except that with tanks I can hide in a building from them, and choose not to engage them if I don't want to. But scouts can and will always find me unless I run e-war modules. Even then I'm screwed because at that point sure I can see them, but I can never engage them because then they have more health and speed than I do. More HP? well it depends what you are wearing in your med frame suit. But, again, if they are running for you, you should be able to see them....thats my point. ____________________________________________________________
Honestly, if I detect a cloaked scout and see him running up on me, it shouldn't take 10 seconds of direct fire for me to kill him as he strafes back and forth.
This is thanks to increased TTK,not necesarily a problem with the cloak.You see if weapons would have stayed like they were , a scout couldnt last a seconds against anything.But the increase of TTK also affects scouts, like me having to shoot in the face a logi 3 times in order to down him...this is plenty of time for him to kill me, considering my low amount of EHP.
Now it seems you mostly have trouble with tanked scouts.But in this game, they give you the option to tank ANY suit. But at a cost....
CLOAKS are Fine, stop the QQ and get your awareness and game , UP.
