Tanks are still OP (but they are almost balanced) (almost) If you think tanks are OP, you're probably trying to destroy them with infantry weapons. or you use infantry..... as a member of bother worlds infantry is right you are wrong. infantry will never balance tanks for fighting other tanks, but infantry av is just laughable. Infantry just "balanced" tank vs tank combat. Instead of CCP listening to actual constructive feedback from vehicle players about what should be done with vehicle hardener stacking problem they listened to infantry. And now look at it, it's completely broken.

It's not like AV has variety either.
Only 2 Weapons actually worth a damn (usually 1 depending on the situation), and the fittings all involve Damage Mod stacking.

Just because infantry doesn't have many AV weapons, doesn't mean that they don't have a lot of variety in modules. We don't, CCP took that away from us in 1.7. And we don't have many AI weapons either, just the Blaster tbh. And on top of Blaster we have 2 AV weapons, Rail and Missiles (that really only work against Armor tanks unless the Shield tanker is total scrub).

There was a problem, but vehicle pilots actually provided constructive feedback in regards to what should have been done about it, but CCP decided to only listen to "QQ nerf them, nerf them!" instead of tweaking them or even taking vehicle pilot ideas into any sort of consideration. Now they are completely useless in vehicle vs. vehicle fights.

You know, I really think you have put way too much stock in CCP's methods of buffing and nerfing things... Asking the community for help? Taking our feedback and actually rolling with it. It all comes down to their playtests, look at the Heavy nerf they were planning, that didn't come from the community (at least that I saw), that came from them, and them alone. So, let's all just simmer down, CCP is like the proverbial Honey Badger, they don't care. Lol...

That's all I'm gonna say on the subject, I will go back to reading this, hopefully it will get funny... You are right about the heavy nerf, but other than that it's usually the result of QQ overflow. And just look at my thread, whenever I post something serious nobody cares, but when I make a QQ post (for my own entertainment mostly) then my thread overflows.

Your hardeners allowed you, one player, to take on a team of 16 withought too much thought, can you name a single infentry mod that allows one to do that? Are swarms and or forgas oneshoting you, are they preventing you from leaving your redline? No? Then start stacking armor reps with the rest of your kind, and deal with it.
I'd say walk in my shoes for a day, but you probably still won't understand.

They probably would, but if it had downsides to it they would have to actually plan accordingly when to use them. For instance, my proposal for Shield Hardeners was to keep 60% but give 30% reduction to top speed and acceleration, so 90% if all 3 are active. You are basically almost immobile. And for Armor Hardeners 40% and 25% speed and acceleration reduction. So if they stacked 2 they would have lost half their speed when they activated both.

I really don't see how the OP thinks he's making a valid comparison. Module A does something useful, therefore nerf it just like the hardeners, no matter what it was. Also if you can't kill someone stacking biotics then you're not very good. It must take like 2 blaster shots to kill them if they're not stacking armor. Are you actually saying that's unreasonable? |

I'd be happy to trade you my cardiac regulators for cycling shield hardening equivalents for my drop suit any day. Would you really give up your armor repair for ours? Also keep in mind that even if you say yes to troll me, tanks can kill any infantry while only a specialized dropsuit with specific (basically otherwise useless) weapons can even pick a fight with a tank to begin with. |
